For about a month I've been dipping my toes into the cesspool of health insurances for the first time. I've never had health insurance before so I really dont know where to look or how.

So my question to all of you is: what's the best trans-friendly insurance in ohio? And is there an online guide that'll help?

Thank you all in advance for helping. This health insurance stuff seems way too over complicated:(

Usually an LGBTIQ clinic can point you to everything, just Google your area.

Hi Jasmine... I don't know if any of these are where you live but look it over. Here is a list of medical insurance providers that have transgender programs. I belong to Group Health/Kaiser and they have been very good. I can't get surgery but if I could they would pay for it.   https://www.hrc.org/resources/finding-insurance-for-transgender-related-healthcare

I have United Healthcare through my employer. They've been fantastic! They pay for practically everything. Unfortunately they don't pay for anything they deem "cosmetic", even if for us it isn't. But over all it's been fabulous coverage.

Devlyns suggestion about a local LGBT center possibly being able to help you out with all the info is a great one. I'd start there.

Good luck! [emoji1303]
