Mika-chan

After a bit of therapy, talking with some close friends and my very supportive wife, I've come to a very important conclusion...

I'm a girl. I've probably been one since forever.

I wasn't sure before, but every step on this journey for me so far has felt very liberating. I feel happier. I'm starting to feel more like I can express myself to others.

My wife recently got me my first girl clothes. It's really kind of funny how affirming and winderful some pieces of cloth can actually be. She'll be getting a dress for me soon, once I've decided on one.

Congratulations, Mika-chan!  Figuring out who you are is huge!  I am so happy for you that you have a supportive wife, too.

Thanks so much Kathy! I've gotten really lucky with a lot of the people in my life. I'm still not sure how my family will react, but I think my sister might be supportive if no one else is. Either way though, this is my truth. I am a girl.

I know the feeling as I just came out to my counselor last Thursday. I felt relieved after doing it.

My congratulations, @Mika-chan !

This is the key revelation we need for our self-acceptance.  It took me five decades to draw and accept this conclusion, and the changes it has led to in my happiness and peace are remarkable.

May this conclusion bring you the peace and joy that you should have in life.

My personal transition path included medical changes.  The path others take may require no medical intervention, or different care.  We each find our own path. I provide these dates for the curious.

Thanks everyone! I've come out to a couple more trusted friends and so far the ones I've told have been supportive.

The conversation about HRT is going to continue with my therapist today. I'm pretty excited about it actually and I really hope it moves forward. I'll post updates here to kind of document my journey.

My therapist agreed to HRT! I'm super excited to start, but also a little nervous too. More updates once I've found an endocrinologist.
