Hi Everyone, Just wanted to introduce myself.  The title of my introduction refers to the fact that I have been very active on another transgender site but the visits and the posts have been diminishing and a couple of friends of mine have been very happy here so I thought I would come on over.

My short history is I started seeing a gender therapist in May 2016 - started electro in May 2016 came out to friends in the fall of 2016.  Full time 3/1/2017 Name change 3/10/2017  Orchiectomy 7/22/2017  ( I know less than a year from full time - my therapist knew I was ready and went with the date I started seeing her )  Birth certificate September 2017.

As you can see I was in a hurry.  LOL

I am on E but have not had any FFS and I live as an openly transwoman and work in a very public facing job.

I am a strong advocate for living authentically and not letting fear and denial control us.  It took me a long time to get to that place.  As such I usually advise people to live the same while keeping in mind that all of us have different situations and travel this path in different ways.  What is best for one is not necessarily the best for each of us but I do strongly believe in order to be happy first you must be honest with yourself.

I look forward to getting to know some of you.

Hello Kim, Welcome and thank you for sharing your story.  It's an inspiration to read this introduction.  I hope to be brave enough to live your quote above.  The denial part has been tackled but I still live in fear of being who I am to specifically my children and two of my siblings.  It will happen but I'm not living authentically until I do.

I hope to hear more about you as your journey continues.  Have a wonderful day.

Thanks Susan,  Coming out for me was the hardest part and living full time those first couple of months.  Transitioning does not make a life all sunshine and rainbows.  The tough stuff still exists - health, money etc etc.  Things everyone has to deal with, transitioning should not be expected to cure all of life's problems.

What it does do in my opinion is it takes away a great weight that you have been carrying around your entire life.  A secret that few or none know about.  It is very lonely to carry that skeleton around every day.

Your children and siblings will be surprised if you have been good at keeping your secret but they will most likely be fine.
Sharing something like this is the true test of who you are and who the people in your life are as well.

Let those close to you love the real you.  I bet they will.
