Thanks Susan, Coming out for me was the hardest part and living full time those first couple of months. Transitioning does not make a life all sunshine and rainbows. The tough stuff still exists - health, money etc etc. Things everyone has to deal with, transitioning should not be expected to cure all of life's problems.
What it does do in my opinion is it takes away a great weight that you have been carrying around your entire life. A secret that few or none know about. It is very lonely to carry that skeleton around every day.
Your children and siblings will be surprised if you have been good at keeping your secret but they will most likely be fine.
Sharing something like this is the true test of who you are and who the people in your life are as well.
Let those close to you love the real you. I bet they will.
