Last week visited some shops and stores at the mall with friends.
Each time we went into a shop/store that had womens clothing, I just wanting to go look so badly. Went into a "adult"shop with lots of lingerie, I thought I would burst.

However since I haven't  come out, I held myself back.

This desire, urge to go look at womens clothing was so strong. This is a new experience for me.

Does this happen to anyone else?

I'm a 65 year old male who has been thinking about SRS for many years.  I also was a  full cross dresser for a few years.  I wear a bra, pantyhose and nail polish daily because it just feels right.

Yes - I love browsing in stores and visualizing what I would look like in this dress or that skirt.  It's a fun experience!!

Hi Folks,                     15 January 2019

I skip the men's department and only go to the women's. I have been wearing and shopping women's for so long that I feel embarrassed to be in the men's section. Do what you want and quit worrying about what others think. It's none of their business. If a sales associate asks me who I am buying for I tell them ME, I'm transgender. They immediately become nicer and more helpful.

Best Always, Love
Christine

Fortunately I've never had a problem going into and shopping for womens clothing. I've bought many many clothing items for my wife over the years and also for myself. I just go in with confidence and browse as if I was in any other department.

I think the key is to keep your head up and don't keep it down looking up with your eyes glancing all over to see if anyone notices you. If you look sheepish it draws more attention. Don't be afraid to say hi to other shoppers.

Take a deep breath and jump on in. It's really easy once you do it a few times.

Thank you all for your encouragement.
I guess still being stealt/closeted I am shying away from that. And having my friend and her daughters there as well really kicked that part in.
Now if only I had extra money, I could actually buy something.😎
Everyone have a wonderful night.

Christine is very wise. Own it girl. Be you especially at an adult store. Folks who work there typically are the most excepting. Hell they'll probably even offer suggestions.

Happens to me all the time, especially when my wife and I are Christmas shopping for female friends and family.

You sound me, about the lack of money. I finally decided to go to a nicer department store and try before I buy. It was a great decision. The saleslady was helpful and we finally found a bra that did me as much justice as a bra could be expected to do for me. When I got home, I saw a drawer full of poor fitting bras (money) that had to be thrown out. I have had similar experiences at the make-up counter, with dresses, and at the adult store. Just tell them you're shopping for you. The first time is the hardest. The clothes/make-up are a little more expensive, but the fit/color are better than what I have from "Grab and buy". Well worth the extra money, plus it's fun. Sometimes, the saleslady can get into as much as I am, and twice, women complimented my choice (added a cloud 9 to my day!)

All the time. Especially with my wife as she shops at Torrid and they definitely have clothes that fit me but ....

I don't think it's much of a big deal as it used to be, depending on where you live, I guess.  10 years ago, though, I was a little more surreptitious, avoiding an area if there were too many women.  Otherwise, I would gradually move on to a different rack or aisle if I became uncomfortable with others nearby.  Christmas was a great time to shop lingerie, especially, in years past.  They assume you're shopping for someone else.

These days, I even see other men doing the same thing while I'm shopping.

Wendi offers sage advice; have confidence, keep your head up, you belong there as much as the next person.

But if you're nervous, a cover story doesn't hurt, avoiding a potentially embarrassing scene.
( "Uh, I'm shopping for my mother...", while tripping over and toppling a rack of bras.) Not that I've ever done that.  :embarrassed:

I am sure Torrid especially has a lot of special girls shiopping there. Heck, they might be mistaking a number of vanilla guys who really ARE shopping for heavyset WAGS as shopping for themselves.....

I'm sure they do.  I have shopped there solo for both my wife and myself and they are very helpful.  My wife does not know so when we go together I help her find things as an excuse to browse for myself for the future.  Its just hard not to just say what I really want when we go together.   I always go to a store she doesn't go to when its for me. Usually they know whats up and they don't seem to care.
