Atomic Kitten

Hello
Can anybody tell me how long it takes before I feel anything, physical or otherwise.
I know for the first time in my life I feel happier. When I was ingesting illegal Drugs to suppress my true feelings
I thought I was happy but that was just an illusion.
When I said I feel happier maybe it is just because I am taking Hormones ,I don't know.
I myself have been the victim of Violence and Hatred ,I even had to learn Martial Art to defend myself against these brutes.
I am not afraid of Neanderthals anymore.

Well I felt it at 3 weeks, and I got sore and cramped.

Also I was a little moody. It's different for everyone though.
So really there is no approximation for you.

To those who understand, I extend my hand
To the doubtful I demand, take me as I am
Not under your command, I know where I stand
I won't change to fix your plan, Take me as I am (Dreamtheatre - As I Am)

Hello
Thanks Steffi,I read the thread you gave me and it seems I will have a lot of  emotional changes.
Some of the replies suggest I may cry at anything but I have been crying over my " birth condition"
since I was four year's old. I have always been highly emotional,I remember when  I watched Forrest Gump
I had to get up and go to the toilet then I burst into tears.
Run Forrest Run.

Thanks for the advice.

My hormone levels shot up pretty quick. The second week I was experiencing nipple soreness and a serious change in my temperment. These two changes also seem to be the strongest change I've gone through while on HRT.
To dream of the person you would like to be is to waste the person you are.

Hi Namaste'
As everyone has said, it's all very individual. depends on how you internal estrogen receptors respond.

I'm in a constant state of change. Week 3, my Psoriasis all but disappeared after 40+ years. Week 5, mood swings started to settle down, week 7, sense of smell went through the roof. Today I ate a can of beetroot. something I've never done in my whole life. Either that or I'm pregnant.  ....  In fact my diet has been looking something odd lately. I love cooking with basil. Even considered putting it on my cereal of a morning.

Yup !! Must be pregnant.

I don't know. I'm just going with the flow; and enjoying the hell out of it. My **** is yet to come

Just make sure you know what your Endo/GP is saying about your developments/bloods etc. Helps you know what is really going on.

Be safe, well and happy
Lotsa huggs

i felt changes instantly actually. My sexual drive diminished on the 1st or 2nd day it seemed.
About 1.5 weeks in my chest started to tingle and my nipples were changing.
I'm 5 weeks in now and i've already had boob growth and i'm pretty positive
my body and face has changed a bit.
But remember, it is different for everyone.

I've only been on hormones for roughly 2 months, but I find i'm MUCH more emotional now! From being a real manly man to a quivering wreck is quite unsettling ! The only thing that used to make me cry was watching the Lion King lmao but now emotional music or beautifully worked scenes in movies/tv shows can bring a tear to my eye!

I've also had boobage too! But overall, ever since I decided this is what I want to do i've felt so much happier than I have in a long time  :)

Nothing yet, well I mean no boobies. But some changes in other places like thicker calves, thighs, hips and butt, also smother skin everywhere, heathier nails and hair.

The other day my female friend of 5 years came over to my apartment unannounced. Shortly after greetings, she said I love how your place is coming out, but something is weird and new around here. I said well thanks, I re-arranged the furniture and had extra money so I had the cleaning agency send some girls over to help out with the chores and some cleaning.

She said no, it's something else, did you have company over recently? It smells like a woman is living here.  :icon_confused:

I haven't told her that I am transitioning, I had to think quick. I said, oh you know what it is? I recently changed my body wash, shampoo, conditioner and deodorant to women to get better body odor with the recently heatwave that we're having, it worked.  ;D

So, yeah some progress it seems.

As said before, everyone is different..

For me, I was 21 when I started hormones and my body reacted quickly, within 3 days my nipples began to swell and got sensitive, I was a nice size A cup within 2 months.. then things slowed down

Smoother skin, i noted about 3 months in, it looks smoother and softer, body shape.. honestly I cant tell you.. I was bout 7 months in and while I noticed dresses started to fit better and my behind looked better in jeans.

Everyone is different, enjoy the journey.

Enjoying ride the hormones are giving me... finally becoming the woman I always knew I was

Nice, and yes my only regret, I wish I had started sooner.

Thank you, we'll see in 7 months what happens with me, keeping my fingers crossed.

Oh and looking at your profile picture, you have amazing body shape and legs btw.

Hi Lilis

You mentioned in your post about the effects of taking hormones:

Quote from: Lilis on June 27, 2024, 01:05:03 AMNothing yet, well I mean no boobies. But some changes in other places like thicker calves, thighs, hips and butt, also smother skin everywhere, heathier nails and hair.

If you have read my signature you know what happened to me.  Change my name, start hormones and back to work.  I never noticed any of those changes, I was too busy working.  The only thing that I can remember and even that is very vaguely and that my breasts got sore for awhile.  I knew that was one of the side effects of hormones and if I bumped them they were sore from the bump.  I knew my face was getting softer, but I did not think too much about what was happening there either.

As your friends do.  Nothing like a house maid enter when one is half naked.  Thinking, what the hell is she thinking and what can she see?  It's alright she did not suspect, why?  She said; "I'm so sorry sweetie".  I was wearing a bra with inserts and a girdle at the time.  So funny.

Quote from: Lilis on June 27, 2024, 01:05:03 AMShe said no, it's something else, did you have company over recently? It smells like a woman is living here.  :icon_confused:

Well yes a women is living there and no you have not had company over.  So funny, luckily I did not have a mouthful of coffee.

Talk about 'good thinking 99'[1], again so funny, I'm in stitches.  Your breasts and wardrobe are obviously going to grow and your appearance is going to change.  Then the time is ticking away quite quickly and if your friend comes over often.  Then you need to be prepared for future situations.  The other thing is sound her out on 'trans' issues, so that you can deal with the situation in your own way.

When I changed there was not much chance of taking photos of oneself.  I have one photo when I started and one when I was one and half years in and the differences are quite dramatic.  So in your case, take the selfies.  They will make you smile in the years to come.

Take care and best wishes for the future, I'm sure you will have many more funny instances.  I still do to this day and when it happens, I say to myself, "If only you knew".

Love and Hugs
