Today is a very sad day for me. It may seem silly to some, but I found out today that one of my cats (Casey) has incurable cancer. He just turned 13. I could put him through surgery, but it would be very dangerous and might not buy him that much more time. This is a complete shock because he's been going to the vet about twice a month since February when he was diagnosed with diabetes. At yesterdays visit, out of nowhere, they said he had a mass in his abdomen. Today they say cancer. Many will say I'm selfish, but he acts pretty normal and there's no way I can look into his big eyes and end his life. That day will come soon enough. Judge me if you want!

So sorry to hear that, Katie. So often our pets become part of the family and that makes it so hard to let go. Sending you big hugs!

Today is my one-year Orchiectomy anniversary. To be honest, it hasn't had much of an impact on me. Sure, there's no pinching when crossing my legs, but it hasn't helped with any feminization. :( I tried!

Orchiectomy with HRT? Some of us just don't change much.  Just have to accept what we are, like every other woman out there.  Doesn't stop the dreaming though, eh?

Yes. My levels have been really good since the orchi. I've been on HRT for 6 years. I've lost hope.

Don't give up yet. You are forgetting something very important. It has only been one year since the orchi. That changes things. That could mean that your HRT is now performing more optimally without needing to compete with testosterone. Give yourself more time. For all you know, you just started puberty six months ago and six years from now you will be a whole different woman.

Hang in there, sister.

I can't give up. I now have to take hormones to maintain my health. I'll never take testosterone. I just don't think I'll ever see any significant changes.

You didn't provide enough information there.

What are your measurements?

For example earlier today I took my measurements they are:

Bust - 39"
Waist - 36"
High Hip - 39"
Hip - 42"

That's a rectangle body shape according to a body shape calculator.

To get an hourly glass figure I have hard work to do at the gym, and probably change my diet to bring my waist down to 32" inches.

I'm thinking of changing my name to Raegan. I've gone back and forth about what I really want to be called. This is the first one that actually feels right.

That is the key. It needs to be a name that you will respond to. I like that name!

Have you already made a legal name change, or is this what you want to change it to?

The only thing I see changed in my mirror is heavier derrière and thighs, 44C/46B (US) 46D (UK/EU).  I haven't measured the classic Bust, Waist Hips.  I don't want the depression, a normal hovering state for me.  If not for my spousal unit's steadfast support, I suspect a sharp downward spiral.

So I actively shunt those thoughts to the bin.  I'm aging too fast to loose the bandwidth exciting over what will not ever be.  Started 50 years ago, there might have been a cuter version of me rather than a fat overweight broad. <I really can laugh about it>

I guess this last may not have been helpful.

My reality is that I enjoy, I don't struggle against, what my 1st world experiences have offered me.  The icing on the cake is embracing what pieces of transformation I can.

Just for the record...disappointment and depression for more than a week now. Every day seems harder than the previous. Getting worn down. Support system at a bare minimum! So tough right now. Hopeless feelings are taking over more and more. Sorry! I don't mean to only come here during the bad times!

Raegan,

Do you have a therapist who can help you through this? We all have tough times and I know from experience how rough it can be without any support system. I see my Psychologist about once a month, belong to a Veterans LGBTQ+ Support Group, and all of my friends and family right here!

Even if you don't have anyone local, you have plenty of us locos here. Come hang out with us. Tell us about your hobbies, play some word games with us, or just read what everyone has been up to. Staying busy keeps your thoughts on other things. Choose happy things and you can get through this.

Hugs!

Lori Dee
