You have to be more specific. What y'all call biscuits in the US is not what we think of them in the UK. Not even close.

I dislike KFC biscuits with their mash potato to a brit in the USA it is an anathema.  My husband, however, adores the stodgy little things - but then he knows no better. I did have a biscuit made by a chef in a half decent restaurant and it was amazing (cheese biscuit I believe).. but generally best avoided unless...

Oh my, I do like biscuits in the UK - especially Hob Nobs, ESPECIALLY if they are coated in dark chocolate.. and no, I am not going to translate what that is for you USA folk - you can google like we brits have to for a lot of the topics here..

No one outside the USA knows what that is though Chrissy - I was so confused when someone asked me if I wanted a biscuit with my fried chicken... tbf, actually now knowing what it is (for the Brits amongst us it is a type of sweet scone, sort of) I still think it rather hideous that you serve it as a side - I did not grow up with it, as I said, my Yank of a hubby loves them!..

It is one of the things no one outside the US will ever really understand. Also.. I've seen the fried chicken there... it's like a heart attack on a plate. From what I've seen from your avatars, Sarah... don't give in to that stuff. You are actually beautiful.

I love fresh warm baskets, buttery and maybe a hint a salt, or baskets and gravy. Cracker barrels to be specific. I am u.s. based, cracked barrel is a restaurant that serves super tasty food.

As for baskets in terms of the u.k I have never had them.

The clotted cream they use with this is like... it's heaven on a plate. But so, so bad for you lol. The scones are what you folks would call biscuits. But like... proper scones. I will definitely have to try it if I am ever over on that side of the pond. I guess scones would be a good way to describe biscuits in the u.k. I always figured that were like crackers, more than scones but now I have something I can relate to it.

No, scones are something very British. Something you folks turned into... not gonna say an abomination, but... something else. They are not biscuits, though. That's someone trying to be clever.

SO the whole UK scone, US Biscuit thing - is a misnomer, and one I got chastised over by my hubby - Biscuit in the USA is only 'like' a scone - it isn't a scone. The recipe is different and they are mainly savory over here, whereas mostly in the UK they are tea-tray sweetmeats. (sweetmeats is an archaic term for such things - worth a read of the wikipedia entry).
In texture I would compare US biscuit to a UK dumpling.. but maybe put a ton of salt in there, some cheddar and a bit of seasoning. The Biscuit certainly works well with a brown gravy whereas a scone most definitely would not.
Superficially they look the same - they are both baked, bready sort of things - but that is about where the comparison ends. And as for the butchering of the Queens' Kings' English by using a perfectly good word for cookies in such an atrocious way, I can only despair.
