You need one of those old pilot caps with the ear flaps that fasten under your chin. It will protect your hair and keep it from getting snagged on old Dodge wiring.  ;D

Mum had to drive miles out of her way to get around the road works to get to town, hope she can get back okay. Bless her she treated me to a Plasm Cutter from the centre isle, will come in handy for slicing metal.
Cooking a Daalcha now, for them as not read me diary its lamb, courgette and mashed chickpeas. Banana and pecan loaf to cook as well.

No point ingoing down the workshop today as road still closed, sold some car bits so had to walk round post office. Popped in the store and got a tub of ice cream to go with the banana cake, it turned out nice even with me forgetting to put 1/2 tsp of baking powder in. House work all done, bed changed and clothes washed so having a sit down!

I can be quite skeptical. I might need to sample a lot of it, often, to decide.  ;D

Now I am blushing, did some alloy welding for a mate yesterday. TIG welder playing up and it was fine the last time I used it not helped by my eye sight even with glasses looking through the bright light to see the metal melt and pool. Got home and started to get swimming vision, okay after a 5mins relax and sit down.
Watched some drag racing from Santa Pod again as its the Vintage Hot Rod Drags, saw Nick take his 31 roadster down the track and just before I stopped watching Brian took his sons Pro ET/Supergas Toyota down. The Toyota is a replica of the car Brian used to race when I used to race against him but this is much quicker, he ran a 9.8 sec 1/4 . Not bad for an 80 year old!

I hope you are using a welding helmet and not tinted brazing googles. I have an auto darkening helmet for welding works nice. It took some getting used to as I kept bobbing my head to lower the helmet even though it was already down.

I got a case of "welder's flash" when I was a teen working in my stepdad's welding shop. I wasn't welding, just holding the pipes being welded. That night it felt like rock salt in my eyes.

My stepdad laughed and said, "But it is SO pretty to look at, isn't it?"

I learned my lesson.

Just eye strain from trying to see past the arc, have a very good helmet and my glasses are tinted to reduce glare. Had to redo a couple of bits on it today, welder worked okay.
Put the drag racing on when I got home and saw Brian do another run, match race with another racer and Brian got him on a hole shot (if you dont know drag racing look it up)
Called on mum to see how she got on with the air fryer, okay she said. I am cooking a chicken breast in it for tonight, told her to be careful not to get it dry.

So mostly today its house work and cooking, cant be bothered to do anything else! TBH I woke later (had to put a fleece blanket on my duvet last night as it went cold) and was so snug in bed I stayed there for a good bit not that it mattered.
Its a year since Debs son was killed in a RTA, she seems to be coping when I rang her this morning. Gave her the talk as well, poo happens and we just have to deal with it and not let it take over is my advice.

Went to Brian's , got dead named all day but I let it wash as its not on purpose. Sorted his wiring , all I can say is the person who worked on it before needs a good slapping!

I have run into that many times. As a Service Technician troubleshooting security systems. I take a look at the control panel, it's a 1973 Omni model and I know the inside will be a rat's nest. Takes a good part of the day toning out each wire and labeling it because the owner is too cheap to buy a newer system. It would cost less in maintenance repairs to buy a new system. I would try to explain it, but they didn't get it, or care. I didn't care, I got paid by the hour, and I wasn't cheap.  ;D

Chef on telly made some flat breads from yogurt, self raising flour and olive oil. Had some yogurt that needed using (like it had been sat in my fridge after being opened for a week) so gave it a go. Came out okay and I ate one with honey on for pudding, have eggs to use up so but a flat bread in the air fryer with 2 eggs on top. Sort of French toast? and had that for breakfast.
Off to Nick's in a bit to do some welding on the hot rod T RUP (roadster pickup)

Managed to burn a hole and set fire to my ex works polo shirt, cheap and nasty one. Trouble was it stuck to my skin and I now have a burn just below my right boob, bit sore but its had a good coat of antiseptic cream. Thats what you get for rushing cutting a rusted nut off in my mates workshop, still got the work done on the T that we set out to do.
