WOW cindy! you are very talented.. your artwork is beautiful!
Set me as a seal upon thine heart, as a seal upon thine arm: for love is strong as death; jealousy is cruel as the grave: the coals thereof are coals of fire, which hath a most vehement flame.

Thanks for the compliment Beth yea I am so happy that Wing Walker bought a scanner. This has the first time I have been able to share some of my work on line. Have a wonderful day hon and please continue the work and I meant it when I said you should look into using your art animations and make some money at it as a buisness.

Hi Beth At first it seemed vaguely familiar but when I read the name Mara and avatar it clicked in, the synapses in the cerebral cortex are kind of moving slow tonight I guess.

"Oh!!" that is so beautiful. I would have picked the name Tinkerbell when I signed up here but there already was a Tinkerbell here. I love fairies, and goodness I hope the cat doesn't wake up!!!  ;D I have a whole colection of fairies stored on my hard drive. Have a wonderful day

this is my newest painting... it is 99.9% done and i wanted to share it here first.

most of my paintings have little "real" meaning. they were a way to escape my mothers terminal illness. i wanted to create beauty in a time when there was so much darkness in my life. the flag girl paintings, two so far... and the sketch eariler in this post, all represent a political view and love for america. the first was done after my mothers death and 9/11. in it the girl.."america" is naked and trying to cover herself with the flag, while the flag has lost its colors and does a poor job covering her. there is the clouds of destruction surrounding her and the only source of light and warmth is from above, off canvas.

meaning: in short, after the destruction  of 9/11 and also the passing of my mother, that patriotism would not cover our pain and nakedness, but the power of faith, love and hope.

old painting:flag girl

the sketch is similar. but represents the sadness caused by the internal destruction of america and our civil liberties.

sketch: flag girl 2

the newest painting is a call to stand against the evil that has happened since 9/11. it hasnt happened yet... hopefully things will change come november. ;)

"america" has fashioned the flag into a semblance of clothing.. and the colors have returned as she gathers the courage to stand and fight for her future.

newest painting: flag girl 3 "taking back america" (24"x16")

love, beth

Wow Beth honey, that first painting evokes such sadness. For an anarchist like me, the old US with its devolved government and active citizenry and stuff is the closest the world has yet come to a large-scale anarchist country, and it leaves me profoundly saddened that things have changed so much since about WWI to WWII. I hope your second painting is indicative of things to come as the US tries to reclaim its soul.

I love the last painting what I see is defiance and persistence of a nation born of revolution and violence,  a warrior who will not surrender. She is the proud and the strong. It is truly a good piece of art especially as to what it represents. America the great, will come back in the glory of a new light.

Cheez wiz I'm a Canadian but I feel like America is my home as well for there was a time I lived and traveled about like a gypsy in all of the eastern states when I was younger. My soul mate happens to be an insufferable Yank......er. "Hee, hee ,hee!" Oops now I wouldn't want to be ducking Kodiak boots, Yikes I didn't meant it hon! Really! Na just joshin, she about as dangerous as I am. Maybe beat her up with a sardine.

Hi, Beth,

I've been taking-in the sketches and drawings that you have shared here since you first posted here.  I have enjoyed all that you have presented.

The America Series is great political/editorial comment.  We can hope for better days and the return of our civil liberties but it sure helps to feel sufficiently upset to go and get them back by voting and staying on Congress' collective ass with letters, phone calls and e-mails.

Soon, very soon I pray, you will have reason to sketch and paint Lady Liberty, resplendent in her restored glory.

Hi Beth. Nice to see you again hon, glad those nasty aliens decided to bring you back. it is all wonderful work because it comes from the heart. Bringing a fantasy or a dream to life on canvas. I have done the very same for many years before I began transitioning. Mine was through writing. My interests changed after I began to truly live my dream, A dream I thought I would never come to see in reality. But my fantasies now are different, but just as exciting and wonderful to see manifest themselves into reality. It is unfortunately very dificult do give birth to a dream into this reality, but it is possible with perseverance and dedication.
