Thanks for the compliments!
The situation with my dad has gotten worse. My dad's health continues to decline. He usually only eats breakfast, and has one or two Ensure during the day. He only wants warm drinks now, because cold drinks cause pain. His hands are always cold. He needs a walker all the time, although he occasionally tries walking around without it, which often results in a stumble or fall.
Without going into too much detail, Susan and I (mainly Susan) will be staying with my dad full-time starting Monday evening. We plan to make a few changes at his house to improve the living conditions there. He could easily afford to make the changes, but it seems he is allergic to spending any money on himself.
The range only has one good heating element. It's over forty years old and parts aren't available. We're going to get a new range. Since he can no longer travel very far, we may need to celebrate Thanksgiving at his house. A single burner range isn't going to work out.
His house uses a well for water. 'City' water is available, but as my dad would always complain 'it costs too much'. The well water has a strong smell of sulfur along with a high iron content. We plan to get the water tested and have a filtration system installed. My dad will most likely be mad about it, but safe, clean water is kind of a requirement for good health.
My dad has a rental property which has been nothing but trouble for the last five years. He has mentioned that he wants to sell it, so we'll help him get it done. He mentioned a price, but I think it's too high. I'll have to convince him to accept a more reasonable offer.
We bought tickets for a P!nk concert in Jan 2023. It has been rescheduled twice, now it's in early November. My brother and his family said they can stay with my dad for a few days so we can enjoy the show. The week prior to the concert, I plan to visit Colorado Springs for an extended electrolysis session. I'm going to be on the road a lot, so I may not be able to visit here as often as usual.
Love always -- Jess
