A pension by being a substitute teacher? I cannot see that for an occasional sub but I can for a sub that teaches a significant amount of days.

Chrissy the pension is so unimportant to me.

The one thing I have learned from my transgender experience is the singularly extraordinary pain it generates. My most passionate hope is that my minor role at this LGBTQ high school will in some way help a child feel better about who they are and maybe, just maybe, know that there are people who love them for who they are.

They are worth every minute of my time.

Chrissy it just feels right, particularly after this election.  We have it rough but these kids are under a lot more pressure. 

I can't imagine what it is like for the children in Red states.

For all your differences.. you and Oldandcreaky have something deeply in common. The desire to help young people be the best they can be. To be someone who can be a cushion for a vulnerable mind.

I think we are all more alike than sometimes we want to admit we are.

Good doesn't stop being good. Just because you see it in a different way. Like facets in a diamond.

Sephirah we have all gone through the gender crucible and have come out tougher and more empathetic.  It is not surprising that we are all very much alike.  The differences keep the dialogue lively.

Not a bad thing, really.

What a strange world.

Yesterday I was trying on wigs and trying new lipsticks. Today I am in a suit and tie for an office dinner.

And I thought scuba diving was putting me in a different world. 

Today I was disguised as a mechanic, work trousers, 2coats and work boots (its turned cold) but tomorrow I will be old dear food shopping (in a thick coat, its turned cold) BTW did I say its turned cold?

It's funny I was talking to a co-worker who knows I'm transgender.  She said, even though I looked fine in the suit, she said she felt the suit didn't look right on me.

She clearly saw "me" and that made me feel better.

It wasn't my imagination that my mirror reflected the "wrong" image of a guy in a suit.

I wore a suit and tie everyday for the final year of my transition. It was good cover, but even then, it didn't always work. A few folks still read me as female.

O&C I get this once in a while and when it happens, it ignites a private joy every time.

I only wear the suit for extremely special occasions.  Thankfully my job is work casual.

Off hours I am getting more and more androgynous.  The big things missing are makeup and long hair.

I love the confusion.
