I hope this year has started out well for you Moonflower!

Chrissy

Always stay cheerful, be polite, kind, and understanding. Accepting yourself as the woman you are is very liberating.  Never underestimate the appreciation and respect of authenticity.  Help connect a person to someone that may be able to help that person.  Be brave, be strong.  A TRUE friend is a treasure.  Relationships are very important, people are important, and the sooner we all realize that the better off the world will be.  Try a little kindness.  Be generous with your time, energy, wisdom, and resources.   Inconvenience yourself to help someone.   I am a brown eyed, brown haired woman.

Thank you, Chrissy. We have been distracting ourselves from the news by working on projects that we love. Right now, we're in the count-down to surgery. Thursday at 5:30 a.m., we'll check in at the hospital. The OR is hers until 3:30 p.m. if she needs it that long. My heart is racing as I try to clear my mind to make sure that we're thinking of everything that we need to do in preparation.

I remember those days, although it was a lifetime ago. Worried about simply everything, no matter how remote. Have faith that everything will work out well. Go through your checklist of things to have, eat a few good meals, spend some time together. The first few days may seem surreal, but the days and weeks will pass. Eventually it will just be a momentary 'blip', but it will mark a major turning point in your life together. I hope both of you, and the surgical team, have a fabulous day.

All went well until 2 or 3 hours ago this morning when my sweetheart fainted. She told me that around 20 people were suddenly shouting in her room, dosing her with IV drugs. The hospital called me four times, but my phone was on Do Not Disturb. I only heard my sweetheart call me because I've had her number on a short list of phone numbers that can ring through anyway.

She's in Intensive Care now. She sounds chipper and expects to be back in her room soon.

Otherwise, the hospital staff have been attentive about keeping her comfortable. Constipation has been her worst problem, though they have been very attentive to her blood sugar and electrolyte levels and blood pressure.

They give you a list of what can go wrong and we  all go "okay but I will be fine" but stuff does happen, I wish you both well and hope she recovers quick . I got a HUGE hematoma ,that made a mess when it let go! Make sure that all the equipment you use at home is VERY sterile as I did get an infection.

Thank you for the update. It's not uncommon to have a few scary days after surgery, but everything will be OK. Rest when you can.

Does she have Diabetes? What you've described is like... it's a lot of the indicators of what that can do to you. Especially when you don't keep on top of it to be more concerned with someone close to you.
