The maintenance never ends on the lovely old machines does it?
First Cruise-Nite of the season at the local burger shop this afternoon/evening. Pulled out the Silver Cloud (Emily) since it looks like rain is possible later today. Not that I want the residual mess of motoring in the rain, but I don't mind letting her get wet. Having lived 30 years of her life in the UK, it's not like she's never seen the rain. Left the '56 Chevy (Alice) in the barn because she is pristine and ready for points competition. Detailing that one is a real chore.
Driving in the wee hours, I was reminded that really need to get the dynamo out of Emily to repair or replace. I'm hoping I can replace the brushes. Driving in darkness reveals slight pulsing in the lamps. She's needed it for a few years but I forget about it since routinely she is only out in daylight hours. Its just so darned expensive, it seems that almost any repairs start at $800 and move up from there. Driving in darkness reveals slight pulsing in the lamps. Lower coolant pipe leaks a drop or two when sitting as well. The A/C needs a vacuum and recharge now I think of it.
