Check over went okay, have to pee in a pot and drop that off!! Sorted out my prescription and they have sent it down to chemist, just have to wait on them processing it now. One part has turned up for the Austin and I have to grind down the wood I glued on yesterday so will be busy on tomorrow.

Well dear hearts its Thursday "fun" food shop day again, that last lot of carrots I bought have started to rot in the fridge even though I wrapped them in foil. Sounds like an excuse to make carrot cake!
 Keema plate pie to make later and fancy trying a whole baked cauliflower, was given a chicken, ham and leek pie from a local butchers the other day and had a bit last night. That is dinner tonight with veg that needs cooking. Looks like I will be chefing all afternoon then.

Keema is a mince (or for you ground) cooked with/in spices, in this one its made into a plate pie . I spent all afternoon cooking, Keema plate pie, whole roast cauliflower and carrot cake as well as some veg cooked for dinner with the reheated chicken, ham and leek pie. Knackered now!! Bought a whole duck this morning as they still had some at a very good price, also got a car polishing machine and a pack of foam mops. Yes, a normal Keema is mince and peas and its the filling they use for a meat samosa. This one has butter beans squashed in it so it holds it all together .

Well done all the stuff I needed to do at home (no workshop today) and its 3 pm and looking for things to do!
Normal telly has been taken over by local election results, yup hours of repeating the same thing that could be done with in 15mins! Labour has taken a kicking but what BS have they now voted in.

 Made a cock up (cook up?) making the stuffing for the duck, it said 2 cups cooked rice so I cooked 2 cups of rice. Yup that makes a hell of a lot more than 2 cups of COOKED rice, doh. So I put it in a tray and cooked it some more in the oven, now I can have a slice of spicy rice!!

Blast this knackered ankle, woke for a wee in the night and struggled to get to the on suite as it was painful. Did my exercise and foot went clonk and was okay to get back to my bed, again when I got up I had to do more exercise before I could walk after more clonks.  Okay now as it just aches like normal but my back is playing up (because of my ankle?) with a muscle grabbing, lots of stretching exercise holding myself up on a chair back and arching seem to have helped shift the knot but still catches at times. So annoying as I wanted to do stuff.

Stretching is the ticket for lower back, but can't think of the ankle.  How long ago was the injury?

About 46 years ago, bit of a twisted ankle (I call it a disco injury!) that felt okay after a few days but it did more damage. At the time when it first played up about a year later the doc said do standing on toe lifts to tighten the tendon, now I cant lift my heel of the floor unless I use both feet. You can see a bone is out of place as there is a bulge on the outside of that ankle and you can feel it, also my big toe has to be massaged where it goes into the arch and joint goes click back into place. Wear and tear !!

NHS won't fix it in place?

If its the same as my wrist they will say yes but you will lose movement, its okay just plays me up sometimes.I expect it to be okay tomorrow.

Who is it that said, "Getting old isn't for sissies!"  We are living proof.

Well this old frame is moving this morning, time to get out and about. Brain work this morning cutting patterns to cover the centre console, have to sew then together and my sewing machine is crap. Will have to pin them first.

Upholstery is a real skill set.  Valuable to have!

I can install premanufactured seat covers, sew on a button, install a cabrio top or headliner and the like, but no where close to be considered an upholsterer.

Nor me!! but I will have a go at anything. Pined the patterns together so now I have to do battle with the machine, well when I have gathered up enough courage.

Give me a table saw over a sewing machine any day!  My Frankenstein monster would have his hand sewn to his far head.

  Cloudy and cool today, RHS Spring garden show on at the local fair grounds so the roads will be backing up for the next 4 days. Good job I travel in the opposite direction to the traffic going down to the workshop as they go to the show and vis versa.
