This is actually awesome, Lori.
I enjoy songs with meaningful lyrics. These songs can be interpreted in so many ways, some quite deep. Overall, The Complex is about how society dehumanizes us into corporate drones. Most people don't realize they are victims, but some people are aware or become aware.
People who have become aware are called "Roof Dwellers" (from the song "Up To The Roof"). The lyrics talk about people who have followed what society wants from them, but found no reward in doing so. So they begin their own search by going up the fire escape to the roof.
In "Persona" (meaning "mask"), they talk about putting it on each morning, going outside, and disappearing into the crowd (becoming one of the corporate drones). In the evening, they take off the mask and discover "there's another one underneath". Later in the show, the Blue Men wear welding masks, and they all look the same. When they take off their masks, they realize that the others have unique facial features. That there is a real person behind the mask.
I could go on and on. But I won't.
