Ok..please don't mind on this question but strange things are happening at my place..does any FTM here have(or had) imaginary friend called Mark from his childhood? Asking that because I still have and other ftm from my country had(same name).

Sophie

Nope, but my imaginary friend from childhood was called Matt for a while (I kept changing it...), but not Mark.

Hmm, I'm curious to know the significance of this question...?

Okay dude, this is WEIRD, really weird.
Yes I had a bunch of imaginary friends, actually, mostly male, one female too but she was a giant with superpowers :D ... later I had as a teen recurrent dreams of an imaginary friend who was male but more like in between genders (i'm not sure, maybe he was a CD, he was kindof like myself but starting at the 'other side'... does that make sense?)... the dreams were at first real dreams, then became daydreams ... the names changed frequently, but the name Marc (spelled with c) was one that I used for my earlier imaginary buddies and for the one from my dreams also. Oh, perhaps I should mention I had that friend from my dreams from when I was about 16 till I was 21, more or less.
What does this mean  :o ??? Since you're asking us about it, I suppose you have some kindof theory? Do tell us.

Ok in a mess right now(exams in 2 days!) so will explain more detailed later..
First thanx for replies because it means  so much  to me...it is weird I know but I still  :-[ have imaginary friend Marko(Marc) and my other ftm buddy had Marko(Marc) also. It happens often that I guess his thoughts(by chance or.. ???).
I met Mark when I was 11.It was war here.Mark and I became very bonded..the main reason why I've never had so many friends...but it worked fine..at least with studying..and of course..puberty-BIG problem..he pommelled every male friend I had(EXCEPT my ftm buddy :))...girls..he sent them anonymous love letters etc.... :icon_flower:
Now I'm 18. He left me a year ago, when a dark period of my life began. A month ago I met that FTM guy and Mark suddenly returned.Marko has major influence on my puberty(direction)No theory... it was just weird 2 FTMs in the same country with the same imaginary friend..so why not check further ;D
Thanx folks!

Wow Andre,
that is an intriguing story. I guess maybe we all need someone to talk to who understands us and find our imaginary buddies when we realise there's no-one in the real world who will get what we're about. Maybe the dark times are when we cant talk to anybody even ourselves and our imagined companions. Funny how you say "I met Marko", it did feel like that with the friend from my dreams. And their presence is very comforting and feels real in a way, I call it 'emotional truth'. I don't know why my buddy finally left me, it was not a dark period for me, maybe it was because at 21 I fell in love, deeply, for the first time.

The coincidence of the names is still puzzling.

Thanks for bringing this up, btw, I kinda thought I was the only one who had this. Never occurred to me to ask. Thinking about this now, maybe it's actually very common for young TG's to have imaginary friends , for the reasons mentioned above. *ponders*

Good luck w the exams!

Hey Andre, interesting topic, but I've never had an imaginary friend.  Heck of a coincidence though.

Interesting. I never had an imaginary friend. I had an alter-ego named Tim who'd do all the things I wanted to do but couldn't because I was a girl.

But could these imaginary friends not be imaginary at all, but spirits of people who have passed who are around to help you with your journey through this life.

Now that is interesting, two Marks could be coincidence but where there are more what does that signify?
Mark is a latin name,  does anyone know what it may mean?

Hi rana,

Mark is from Marcus, related to Mars, the Roman god of war... certainly a macho thing :-P
There are also several saints named Mark, see: http://www.catholic-forum.com/SAINTS/patron02.htm

I have yet to figure out what exactly the relation between Mark, saints named Mark, and Mars, is ... but I'm almost tempted to think that some ancient spirit or saint is looking out for young FtMs...
but then why don't all have that same imaginary friend? And don't MtF people have a similar patron saint/friend?  ???

Hi Alex,
That is a most interesting link, thanks for showing it to me :)
What I have noticed is that a lot of Saint Marks were soldiers, and the majority of them were martyrs.
Being prepared to suffer even die for what you believe in.
Notice any parallels with here :)

Sure sounds like you have a spiritual ally. If you knew a good psychic or medium (good means with an established reputation, local New Age bookstores should have references) you could probably get to the bottom of this. Afterall, TG's are natural shamans in lots of cultures. The thing lots of people don't realize is there's an objective side to the imagination, so perhaps your "friend" is not so imaginary. Well I don't want to make too much of this, your "friend" has had a positive influence so that is how he should be judged, by his influence on and around you, whether he exits as a projection of your mind or a projection into your mind.
