Well, it's been almost 6 weeks since my first venture out to the wig store as Kelly. Since then I have been out 7 more times! with each one getting easier and gaining more confidence, except for two bad moments, all in all it's been great. (I'm still afraid of someone from work seeing me though, if that happens, I don't think I could work there anymore, as they are nothing but a bunch of sexist pigs, but I love what I do and I get paid excellent, so here's hoping) Here are some details on each outing...

For my second, we went out to a local club here in St. Louis called Bubby and Sissy's , it's a great place, the have a highly mixed clientel, women, men, TG's, straight, gay, you name it. Everyone there is so friendly. I wore a pair of loose fitting jeans, slightly tight fitting sweater, jean jacket and 2"  chunky heels. We stayed about 2 hours, when I felt the urge arrising, considering what I was wearing to keep me kinda flat up front and curvy out back, once they came down, it was going to be hell getting them back up, so we left.

Third outing was our dinner, we choose a fancier Italian restaurant in the Hill area of St. Louis, I wore a Fuscia 2 piece skirt outfit and 3 1/2" sandals. It went well, nobody really noticed or at least said anything, except the waiter, I'm sure he knew, cause I'm still working on my voice and you could tell it was weak. But he didn't say anything, we ate, drank and left.

Third outing was back to Bubby and Sissy's, this time I stepped up my attire a bid, I wore a Pink pant suit and my 4" white sandals (view my gallery for pics, poor quality, but you get the idea). Again, the place and people were great, we went on a night they hold their Drag Queen and King contest, let me tell you, there were a few that could easily pass for a woman, but most were, well, just a man in a dress, one guy didn't even bother to shave and had lipstick and eyeshadow plastered on his face..., we also made a few aquaintences as well.
As well I was asked by one of the regulars why I hadn't entered the contest as I could probably have won. I didn't know about the contest until I got there. But I'm going to enter their next one, as well as I'm gearing up for the upcoming Miss Illusionist St. Louis (at least that's what I think it's called) contest, (this one has Four segments, Introductions, Talent (I can pull off a pretty darn good Pat Benatar's, Heartbreaker and Hit Me, among others), Swimsuit, and Gown or Dress/Question & Answer/Mannerisms), first is $$$ plus a chance to compete in a bigger pageant. Please help me out and read my other post Severely frustrated, with placement of privates, I need this for the swimsuit segment part.

4th outing was back to Bubby and Sissy's again, I wore the same Jeans as the first time a baby T and and runners. Did I say this place is great?  ;D

5th and 6th came while on vacation in Myrtle Beach.

I was getting tired of my homemade hip and butt padding (takes like what seems forever to get them in the right place, plus makes it hard to go to the bathroom) and decided it was time to get a pair of padded panties. So we went out shopping, I toned down the make-up a lot, for this, lightly applied foundation and powder, very little eyeliner, no mascara, a smidge of shadow and blush, and a light pink lipstick, jean shorts, baby T and flat sandals.
It was exciting scary, exilerating, It was my true first time out in daylight, in places that were crowded with orinary people, I got read I'll bet about 10 dozen times but as far as I could tell, no one stopped , pointed and/or stared.
Well, we visited all the big stores, Sears, Nordstroms, JCPenny et all, and none sold padded panties, the the smaller shops such as Victoria Secret (where one of the salesgirls even asked if I would like a free bra fitting  :) ), Rainbow, Charlotte Russe... had them either, so we tried the lingerie/sex shops, where at only the second place we found them. while I was there, I also tried on a few pair of high heels and bought a pair of 5 1/2" black pumps, haven't had any that high for a while now, but just had to have them  >:D , the salesgirl also complimented on my toenails and almost couldn't believe I did them myself (I think she was jealous  ).

We then went back to the resort, and got dressed up for our girls night out, I wore heavier makeup, and slutied up the outfit a bit, Black seemed stockings, mid thigh leather skirt, red baby T, Leather Jacket and those 5 1/2" heels (view my gallery for pics the wife took before leaving), the wife wore a more modest knee length cut low front and back dress and 3+" heels, I stood at 6' 3" in those heels to her 5' 10". First stop was a place called the Rainbow House despite the name it's not a totally gay bar, the have straight clientel too, I had a guy (I think gay) call me darling, do a double take, then tell how good I looked  :) :) :) and for the first time used a bathroom while out, those padded panties made it sooo much easier (it was also the first time I had ever used the ladies room).

After a few drinks we headed to our next stop, Celebrations (Froggy Bottoms), where I got asked to dance, I politely declined I also made known to the guy that I was a male (big mistake), he looked at me closer, frowned, walked back over to his friends and pointed at me, well, soon it seemed like half the place was looking at me and Kathy, so we finished or drinks and left, final stop was the 2001 (Razzies) nightclub, this time I had two guy's ask me to dance, the one realized I was a man and walked away disgusted, the other just looked amazed and said I made a beautiful woman  :icon_joy: . Me and the wife danced to one song, finished our drinks and left.

Now here's where it gets nasty, on the way back to the resort, I had a real sudden urge that wasn't going to wait, so I had her stop at a gas station, and proceeded to use their bathroom. Did I mention it was the start of Bike Week there, Bikers from all over America descend upon Myrtle Beach for it. Well as I was leaving, three big bikers pulled up and proceeded to hoot and holler, then I guess they realized I was a man and two blocked my way, one was clenched his fists and looked like he was going to punch me. Kathy stepped out of the car, cell phone in hand, and told them to back off or else she was calling the :police:, well I made it back to the car and we hightailed it home, it was one of the scarier moments of my life.

7th time out was Fri night, back to Bubby and Sissy's, it's nice to be home  :)

We are also gearing up to tell 2 of my 4 stepsons, they are gay, so we figure they may be more accepting of Kelly, the youngest (straight) will possibly come later after we see how the other two take the news, the oldest (also straight) we probably will never tell as he dislikes me and this will just further the fuel on the fire. So wish me luck on this.

Wow, you've done a lot. Thank God your wife was there when those bikers threatened you. Don't let it deter you from being you.

Thanks for the update.  You make me a bit jealous of all the fun you are having.  My wife and I will be in St. Louis this weekend to visit her family.  I am afraid that Bubby and Sissy's is not on the agenda however.

I've been thinking about attending one of those meetings.  I also found out about another meeting/party place, called Bill's, it's more like a gathering of friends than a meeting, so I may look at that too.  There are also other CD/TG friendly clubs in the St. Louis area, it's just that Bubby and Sissy's is only 8 miles away in Alton, IL, I'm in Granite City, IL.

I'm not trying to rub it in anyones face, and am extremely sorry if it sounded that way, I was just expressing myself as to how my progress has been going, from being scared witless going out my front door, to being semi comfortable at certain places. And how if I (one who has very little confidence) can do it, then other people should be able to do it.  I'm still not 100% sure of myself when going out, especially after what happened in Myrtle Beach.  Of course dressing the way I dressed may have had something to do with it, you can bet I'll prolly never go out looking like that again.

I can also tell Kathy isn't quite into it anymore after what happened in Myrtle Beach, although she hasn't said anything, I could tell by her reluctance on getting ready to go out or just from her body language when we we there last Friday night.

There were plans for this long weekend on going out, but now..., I'm not sure we'll even attempt the contest this Wed night at B & S's :(

Kelly Girl,

I cannot speak for our sisters here, but I am proud of you and what you have accomplished in your journey.  Your outings are inspiration to me and I am sure to our younger sisters ( young in their own journeys ).  As to your upcoming outing, I say go anyway.  It would only be a booster to your confidence.  I would love to hear how it when.  ::)

Love,
Janet
