There's so going on inside my head.  Tomorrow is a big travel day for me.  Traveling to Phoenix for top surgery on Thursday.  So excited but it's a bit stressful right now.  My mom is going with me and she doesn't travel well.  I swear she's almost funny if she wasn't so serious.  She's convinced that the plane is going to be hijacked.  I mean, come on, we're just travelling from Washington state to Salt Lake to Phoenix.  When I told my best friend about that, he said that the the only terrorists you'll see will be the Mormons.  Another thing, my mom has to feel prepared for everything.  So she's currently packing a sweatshirt and telling me to pack my jacket.  Just a bit ridiculous - it's Phoenix in July.  Anyhow the really big day is Thursday.  Hopefully I'll have access to a computer to keep you guys posted.

lol, My mom's like that too when it comes to flying. As long as she's got feet/tires on the ground, she's absolutely fine. I would love to see how she reacts when she gets on a flight to mexico next week. Anyway, congrats on the surgery date, and good luck with it. Keep us posted.

Congratulations on going to one of my favorite cities (really) and, of course, your surgery!   Best of luck.

Maybe your mother isn't so much neurotic about traveling as she is about having her kid knocked out, sliced open and sewn back together. I know I was a control freak around the time of my surgery, simply because I couldn't control what was going to be happening when I was asleep.  Cut her some slack, I'm sure this is a crazy time for her, too. 

Thanks for the kind words.  I'm trying to cut her some slack.  I can completely relate to being a control freak right now.  It's almost like 2 people are going to the same city for completely different reasons.  She's really focusing in on tourist attractions and making sure she has her swimming suit packed.  Me, on the other hand, is focused on making sure I have my meds and paperwork packed and the touristy stuff is secondary.  Just a little bit ago, she reminded me to pack my swimming suit cuz I'll probably want to go swimming.  Well, right now the idea of having to wear a female swimming suit really bothers me and she doesn't see why it would.  It's just frustrating - just when I think she understands how I feel she goes and says something that makes me think otherwise.

She probably means well by that. I think shes just trying to keep her mind on something so she doesn't have to worry so much about you. People do silly things when they're stressed out or anxious. Maybe the flight has her bothered and shes trying to keep her mind off of it. I hate flying myself.
