Portland, OR is a very trans friendly city.  The city has added gender identity to the city anti-discrimination laws.

Am I seeing an illusion? Did my home state of Louisiana actually turn cyan? Wow...

One I live in apparently we have confirmed anti-discrimination laws for working in government but not for all jobs.

Though in my Job hunt did find one wish I could work at that also has an anti-discrimination policy that includes Gender Identity.   Problem is a lot of people want to work there lol...  and I have heard it's difficult to be accepted.

Ohio is so on top of the list of transphobic states, it ranks higher than #1.

Well Florida it technically part of the south and while there is no statewide protections, there are cities and counties that have added protections to their ordinances.

It's nice to see so many maroon states.  Most of those also protect against discrimination outside the work place, and some will even allow you to come in from out of state to have legal proceedures done that could not otherwise be obtained in one's state of residency (Limited of course).  So there is still hope for those from Ohio.

they've always had it for state employees only, then took it away then gave it back. some cities and ordinances here have protection, but it needs to be statewide equality and federal equality as well. i', really sick of the government screwing over the trans people.

New York City has protections for gender identity but not the state. I believe we will have gender identity included in the protections before long.
