Dude you're not fat o.O I'm only an inch taller than you and I'm 120.

Don't do anything too rash, I mean... do you have problem areas you think? I know all my fat settles in around my stomach, but I'm hitting the gym to get rid of it.

Well, I don't know you in person so I wouldn't know but....

A lot of people see things that aren't really there when it comes to their own bodies. Everyone gets down about their bodies now and then. I doubt there's anything you could do about hips, so I wouldn't worry about it :)

Inflate your confidence and the hips disappear! No one will even notice

I agree with Trapthavok,

work on your self confidence. Maybe just exercise more. Find a couple of activities you're good at, or that you know you can be good at once you learn them.

If sound as if you have the symptoms of anorexia nervosa, emoboi; the distorted "sight" that makes you always see yourself as fat. I'd recommend professional help at a place like The Renfrew Center or a place closer, perhaps, to your own home.

They abound; as does the problem of eating disorders in girls. women and more often than ever now, in boys and men. Since eating disorders do lead to other conditions as well that are also life-threatening: diabetes, heart/vascular problems, gastro-intestinal difficulties, etc they are not to be taken lightly.

If you are truly tired of being that way, seek help. You don't have to deal with this alone, ever.

All the best,

Nichole

Boy, ask anyone who's been around here and they will tell you about my weight issues that I'm finally starting to overcome.

In Oct. 2007, I was at 137 pound and 5'3".  Not fat, but def. not skinny.  I went on Weight Watchers and got down to about 125.  Then, Weight Watchers quit working. Once you get down to the last 10 pounds or so it gets really hard to lose weight.  So, I went on this crash diet to 1000  calories or less a day, which is NOT good for you.  I got down to about 117 with that, then my mom finally brought me to reality.  She pointed out how unhappy, lifeless, and grumpy I was and finally, I started eating a little bit more and killing myself with exercise. Not good results.

I learned to work out, lift weights and run, and keep my protein and fiber intake high.  Through this diet, I had a lot of energy, was getting muscle (which burns fat) and looked good. This also brought up my confidence.  Now, I don't get incredibly depressed after I eat something with high calories.  I figure "Hey, life is short and I can always work this off easily."

Now, my doctor told me that at 5'4", 105 isn't a healthy weight for me (That's what I originally wanted to get to).  He said at the least be around 112.  I thought that was way too big, but then I realized that muscle weighs more than fat.  I'm currently at 120 and think I look great, but more importantly, I feel great.  I'm getting very toned and I don't starve myself.  Plus, when you starve yourself, your body eats more muscle mass than fat.

Bottom line, you aren't fat.  And if you think you are (trust me, I hated when people told me I wasn't when I felt I was), don't focus on losing weight.  Focus on gaining muscle.  It will really shape you up.  Just eat lots of protein and fiber.  Gaining muscle will make you feel great and give you a more masculine appearance.  :)

As someone who struggles with weight gain and who has dropped to 94lbs whilst being 5'6" at the time, I would suggest that you give the idea of being that thin up.

I dropped to 94lbs because I got really depressed and felt I didn't deserve food. It wasn't for looks, but when I looked in the mirror I could see nothing wrong with it, but to everyone else I looked sick. And I was sick a lot as well... and I couldn't notice myself looking thin or sickly, but even other students could tell I was getting super thin.

I took a picture then and when I broke out of the depression and started to gain weight again and am currently sitting at 110-114lbs. I look back on that picture and wonder how I could have thought nothing was wrong.

Its a perception thing, dude.

I also see it this way.

If you are super skinny, that shows every feminine curve, wide hip bones etc.
  •

Nero

True. There's nothing more feminine than a tiny waist.

I have horribly wide hips.  Even if I had no fat on em, they are just structured really widely.  I noticed that the more I lost weight, the more they showed.

yep, in some way, while my legs and arms kinda look small compared to torso, I find a slight bit of belly have helps hide the breasts lol.  Though am hoping to still loose some.  I'm 5"4' heavy boned and actually fairly muscular under the bit of belly and large chest lol.  I find I can lift a lot of things most women can't.  Though still hope to get down to 140 or 150 at least.

And don't worry.  Your fine, actually maybe bit to thin :P  Don't starve yourself.  Besides, I think it's healthy to have at least a little layer of padding.  Fat is not just blubber it's a storage of energy and food for the body.
Every day we pass people, do we see them or the mask they wear?
If you live under a mask long enough, does it eventually break or wear down?  Does it become part you?  Maybe alone, they are truly themselves?  Or maybe they have forgotten or buried themselves so long, they forget they are not a mask?

Yeah.  You don't live on the west coast do you?  Fat is fat and its bad for you.  Too thin is also very bad for you.  One should eat a lot and work out even more.
FIGHT APATHY!, or don't...

Actually some guys do. I know a lot of gay guys who think this way, and I know some straight guys probably see it too. Anorexia isn't as popular with the guys as it is with the girls, but there ARE guys who are affected.

No, I live in PA, and while I know excess fat is not good for you I also know that you can't be completely fatless and healthy.   Even big hulking muscle builders have some little bit in there greasing the weels and keeping the body running you might say.

I'm fat too. I'm 5'6" and weigh 159 pounds. It sucks! I exercise daily, and I don't eat junk food very often, and I don't eat too much either. But I can't get any thinner. I don't look really fat, but I wear loose shirts and they hang off my boobs making me look even fatter. But I guess my major problem is that I have 'the curve' on my stomach. I repeat: it sucks! I don't know what the deal is.
