Ok SO I cant wait to start hormones soon, my therapist is writing the script for estrogen and I have an appt coming up to see the endo. However I am curious. In the beginning, will I start at a small dose of just estrogen? Or anti androgens + estrogen? Also, will they include progesterone? Because I really want to take that in combo with estrogen after hearing all the positive effects it has especially with breast development. If the endo doesnt prescribe progesterone can I demand it or request him to? Let me know your experiences as well!

Also, Im curious at how much development I can expect and how soon over the coming months. I am 18 years old if that helps. Like what kind of changes can I expect to my face / breasts and how soon? Will my nose change at all and will my lips get bigger? How soon does leg hair diminish? Thanks so much once again!

The younger you are the more HGH you have available, that should help a lot with growth, although nothing is ever a given in HRT.

Most endos, from all I've read, start with anti-androgens and then add E in about a month. Mine gave me both scripts at once and just dated the E for a month later than the spiro.

Progeterone? I don't know that you can "demand" anything from a doctor in the way of a prescription. If he's against giving it then he doesn't have to and prolly not for about 6 months anyway.

I believe most docs want to separate scripts so you are taking them in a staggered fashion. Easier to tell if you have a poor reaction what it is you're reacting with.

Congrats, Jasmine. :)

re: the body hair - I've been told that takes about 12 months, but you're young so yours may not have completely taken hold yet and it may be quicker.

Welcome to the E club!

You are young enough that you may see changes quicker than someone my age.  Never ask a lady her age. :eusa_naughty:
Depending on whether your grow plates have fused, you may not see any change in your hips, except for any fat distribution.
Your nose is probably your nose.  Rhinoplasty would be the only fix if you don't like it.

My doctor started me on both Estrogin and Spiro, at the same time.  I am going on 5 months HRT and I am not really seeing much changes except in my face and waist.
As Nichole says nothing is given in HRT, genetics plays a big part.  Anything that you don't like after, I am told, two years is changeable.  That is why there are Plastic Surgeons.  :D

Congrats on entering the Estrogen-Club!

My physician started me out with estrodiol transdermal patches.  I haven't had a need to go on anti-androgens.

Talk with your physician about using transdermal patches instead of pills.  It does less damage to the liver.

I have been on HRT for 9 months. My Dr. started me out on spiro and a very small amount of estridiol and moved up slowly over three months to the full amount.( I`m not saying how much) I haven`t noticed any physical changes anywhere but the top of my head ( hair). I have desided i will need FFS , full bodyhair hair removal, hair transplants, and a butt load of money.

It is differant for everyone. I hope it all works better for you than me. Angie

I've been on HRT for almost two and a half years. I was started on a very low dosage of Premarin, at the same time as spiro. A few months later I was switched to a higher dosage of Estrace pills, which was a noticeable improvement, and the Estrace dosage was increased a few more times over the course of the following year. But I still craved more. More. MORE. I've never loved anything so much. I savor it. I kept bugging my endocrinologist for a stronger dose.

So last week I stopped taking pills and started injecting Delestrogen. Whoa this stuff rocks. One lady I know told me her breast size doubled within a few months after she switched from pills to patches. My one trans friend who knows a lot about medication told me that injecting it is even better than patches. Within a couple of days after my first shot, my breasts and nipples started growing noticeably bigger and have become so sensitive, just the feeling of my cotton nightie lightly brushing over them has been driving me out of my mind. Good times.  ;D I have great hopes for injected Delestrogen, based on just this one shot. As a bonus it should give my liver a break, as has been mentioned above. Now I regret having wasted years on taking pills when I could have been shooting up.*

You have to inject it into the muscle of the upper outer quadrant of the gluteal area. There is a rather specific area there to aim for where you hit muscle instead of fat. I recommend consulting an anatomy textbook.

*"One pill (estro) makes you larger (breasts), and the other one (spiro) makes you small (nuts & prostate). And the ones your endocrinologist prescribes for you don't do anything at all."

Changed title back to Re: "Holler!! Im about to start estrogen", please review the site rules/TOS, rule #11 regarding language, thanks - Tink
Here's what I find about compromise--
don't do it if it hurts inside,
'cause either way you're screwed,
eventually you'll find
you may as well feel good;
you may as well have some pride
