I'm 5' 9". I grew about a half-inch after I started T when I was 18. Don't know whether I would have grown had I not been on T.

That s awesome. Gives me hope that maybe, just maybe I could still grow. But then I start thinkin that well everyone is different, but still, im way too short, and need hope wherever it comes,...so thanks

I HOPE THAT HAPPEN TO ME. :D

But you were already 5'9". I'm 5'2", almost 5'3". I mean, I'd be happy if I was 5'5", even. It'd be nice to at least fall under the average for women. But I'm even shorter than that!

I'm trying everything. Aerobics (which can increase growth hormone production), proper diet, stretching, spine health... you name it. I just don't know what else to try. :(

Man, I am too, but im also going to start trying ankle weights, too. You sit on a bed/chair and dont let your feet touch the ground, keep them slightly elevated, and with the added weight of gravity, your body should strech. I just hope this works cause eating, sleeping, and streching can only go so far...

I hear that laying on a flat surface on your back helps too. Having your spine straightened can add a couple inches if it isn't aligned properly.

Same with hanging from a bar for some seconds. Ill try all these methods and if any results show up, i'll inform you...although, it would be difficult to extract which method actually worked, I'll guestimate.

Thanks.

I know there are surgeries that they do in your legs that can add something like 2-4 inches, but it's very expensive, very painful, somewhat cripples you, and they usually only do it for dwarves. It would take a long time to get something like that approved, and all that for just a couple inches... doesn't feel worth it. Then again, just 2 more and I'd meet the average. It almost sounds easier to be on growth hormone for the rest of my life (which may or may not make me taller). Except that actually requires a "legitimate reason" or else every short person would be on it.

Growth hormone is expensive... and so is that surgery(i heard like 200,000). You re right, its probably not worth it and they might not even approve, but this one little person got the surgery and went from 4'3 to 4'10.(this usually doesnt happen I dont think), but the pain she went throgh, plus she got infected and went through part of the surgery without no anestic(i cant spell).
But being more positive, hopefullly we'll grow with our streching, exercising, diet, sleep, ect...hopefully...

That sounds incredibly painful. I heard someone joke about it in a movie once.. White Chicks, I think?

"We got our knees done."

Short girl: "You can do that?"

Tall girl to short girl: "You should do that!"

But I never realized it actually existed. Ouch. I'd rather be 5'2.5 my entire life. Besides, I love short guys, so why not like that part of myself?

Elwood

Lol. It's not done in the knees. I believe it's done in the tibia and fibula. Those are your shin bones. It MIGHT be done in the femur.

I believe this is the procedure you're talking about. It looks... nasty.

There are advantages to having a smaller stature, you know. Have a look here. :)

Above all... remember: you are beautiful, you are valuable, and you have a shining spark of magnificence within you. Don't let anyone take that from you. Embrace who you are. <3

Yeah, it sounds like it'd have to be done in both the tibia and the femur, right? Otherwise you'd have weirdly proportioned legs. Anyway, ouch.. it sounds horrible!

And I never knew short people had so much going for them, Lei. That's neat. :)

Being short does have some of it's advantages, but still. I don't want to live to be 80 anyway. I'd like to die relatively young, in my 70's. I don't want to die a cripple. So I don't mind having a shorter life span... if that would make me taller.

That is the procedure I was talking about. It's very painful and takes a long time. The patient cannot walk or anything for a very long time... No one in my family would ever support it so I don't think it could ever work for me.

Here's an animation of the procedure:

Here's a graphic photo of what it does to your legs: http://i5.photobucket.com/albums/y168/penguin_furuba/61.jpg

Oh my god. That's awful.

And like I said, it looks like it would make your legs disproportioned!

I want to die before I get old and sick because my family has so many age-linked medical problems in its history, like diabetes and cancer and macular degeneration. I could not stand going blind, I would honestly rather die.

But hey! Reduced risk of heart disease.

Saw a documentary on it once. It's agonizing. And over a long period of time. No thanks. I'm 5'5" and have many bio male friends who are the same height or shorter. Yeah, I'd like to be tall, but it ain't gonna happen. Still and all, I'm living the life I want to and if it means making myself proportionately shorter in comparison to my gender, it's still worth it.

Yeah, you have a great point, but 5"2 is just too short.Im shorter than alot of girls, and then with the guys its even worse. BUT, theres always streching and the little hope that brings...
