You're beautiful as is. And, yes, keep the hair UP!!!

I don't know why you want a nose job -- maybe pic #2 showed a problem, but it was hard to tell because of the background.  I also don't know why you want a tracheal shave -- no Adan's apple was visible in any of those pictures -- but I guess you really want that too.

There will always be some way to be more beautiful. I'd really encourage you to stop after those two. Unless there's a real problem (or you just have tons of money to throw around) I'd say it's not worth either the money or the risk. There are ways to make yourself beautiful that don't involve knives -- ways that actually work.

IMO, you look fine.
Would be an enormous waste of money for not very much.
Give the 'mones another 12 months and see how you feel.

Which pictures are you looking at?  I mean come on, who are you lying to, her or yourselves?  She's expressed her concerns, quite accurately I believe, and you poo poo her.  I've said it before and I'll say it again: FFS is a highly personal decision.  She asked for opinions to evaluate her own conclusions..... not a snow job.  If you're a surgery phobe... fine, just don't post to threads like these.  If you don't have the resources to pursue FFS... fine, just don't try to hold somebody else back from what they need.

I'm and FFS grad (2005) and it was the best money I've ever spent.

Well, would you care to share? What would you have done?

I simply said that the pictures didn't clearly show the problems she mentioned -- nose and trachea -- not because they don't exist, but because, well, the pictures didn't clearly show them. I mean, there was a collar in the way, and the profile of the nose had a weird blur in it.
All changes, even the most longed for, have their melancholy; for what we leave behind us is a part of ourselves; we must die to one life before we can enter another.

Makes me wonder if there is such a thing as pre-holiday PMS because there appears to be a lot of it going on in the past couple of days on different threads here.

What is wrong with suggesting to someone to wait until they are 12 months  on HRT to see what improvements there will be in the fat and water redistribution process brought about bt the hormones?

I believe a year is not much to suggest, especially for a younger individual to wait to see the results, before deciding on how much of any type of FFS is required, if at all.

Speaking for myself I was not discouraging FFS, that is for the individual to decide on in the end anyway. I was merely suggesting to at least wait a year on HRT before making that decision.

WTF?
I said that SHE LOOKS FINE
What do you mean 'which pictures are you looking at'?
Are you trying to say she looks like a man and needs FFS?
Well?

QuoteI've said it before and I'll say it again: FFS is a highly personal decision.  She asked for opinions to evaluate her own conclusions..... not a snow job.
Again, WTF?
I gave my honest opinion; I think she looks fine.

Who the hell are you to get all up my arse and tell me I shouldn't express my opinion?
If you don't like my opinions, feel free to ignore them and STFU.
K?

QuoteI'm and FFS grad (2005) and it was the best money I've ever spent.
I couldn't care less. This thread isn't about you.

Seems to be a case of 'Poke Vexing with a stick and see if you survive the experience intact' week.
Hint: you won't. Survive the experience intact, that is.

Renee has it spot on and Amanda may be right too as they both are very similar in their answers. I had 3 FFS myself so i know what can be done.

nose brows maybe chin and maybe cheeks but those two are tough to get right whereas the nose and brows can be done endoscopically.

Thank you all for you concerns. I think I did say that I have no plans to have any FFS before a year on HRT. I am just trying to figure out what to expect. I pretty much KNOW I am getting rhinoplasty though and probably can not be talked out of it. Right now my current goal will be December '10 for that, 1.5 years after starting HRT. I just don't see HRT somehow magically fixing my broken / crooked nose. After that (thanks to some of the replies in this thread), I think I am going to decide whether I actually do need my chin and brow done. I may opt to put that money towards SRS instead, but I am also going to try to be saving for it in case I do decide I want it. I really just needed some realistic savings goals. I know I am young and I do have a pretty good starting point, but as others have said this is really a personal decision. When I look in the mirror I find it extremely difficult not to focus on some of my male features and this is a problem. I'm not rushing into anything though.

Again, thank you so much to everyone.

QuoteCooooool! You have different coloured eyes!

Okay, I think you look pretty good, though the hair down hides your features and makes you look much more male. I think yeah to the nose. Other features ... quite honestly, I think you look good

I agree.

cool eyes  ;D  In the mean time, while saving up (if ffs is the way you wanna go) there are all kinds of hair and make up tricks one can do. A hair cut can affect the way your face looks and so can make up. It's good to know how to do all of that, especially in the start 'cause it will help with your confidence.

Then there's me, I ended up shaving half of my head and rarely wear make up (or just some eyeliner) -- now I just look like a dyke (and I am), but the good thing is that I know a lot of dykes that have a lot of boyish features (more so than you, actually). *dyke power!*

So, with that point, how you present yourself goes a long way. Your clothes, hair, make up, etc. I also find confidence helps. HRT over time helps, too. But, save your cash so that you have FFS as an option.

Well the only thing I've had worked on so far is a blepharoplasty, so I may not be the best one to ask.  But yes, prepare for pain.  Big time!  I have a girlfriend who is traveling to Mexico in a couple of weeks, and the cost is amazingly less.  But we will see how good the results are.  I may be following her lead if it is good.

I agree with the others...keep your hair up.  With it up, you look almost identical to my niece, who is working to become a model.  You are seriously pretty.   Your chin is more square is the only difference.

Please do post a pic after a year or so of HRT.  Can't wait to see what a little fat redistribution will do.

I have never had facial surgery but I hear it hurts more then SRS, well my SRS was only mostly discomfort, so I don't know if that's a good example to use. Never had any broken bones either, a few bumps and bruises is all.

Hi Jocelynn,

If you still are checking back on this thread, just a point you may have already realized.  If you find after HRT that the only thing you want to change is your nose, or really anything "fleshy" (ie not involving bone work) , you can probably solicit the services of any competent local cosmetic surgeon, saving the cost of travel to the "FFS specialists", which may or may not be located locally.

Looking at your pictures, you may find this to be the case after HRT.   I would die for your hairline young lady!

Wow, this thread got a bit ugly pre-holidays.. glad I wasn't here then, *giggles*.

*huggs*,

With your hair up, and if everything went well. I believe you can pass. Just the chin and nose, in my opinion, and only when you had your hair down.

"Hee, hee." I had forgotten about this thread. I do pray that Jocelynn wasn't to offended and comes back to chat. I would love to see what she looks like. May God bless.

I changed my name but I really am considering going back to Jocelyn. I actually posted my Virtual FFS pics in the members section, which is similar (hopefully) to what I'll look like come December. I ended up deciding on nose, chin (w/ slight jaw), and brow (w/ slight forehead).
