Ya know, I am in a simular situation. I lost my job at ->-bleeped-<--mart on 1-4-09. They tell me that my attendance was a problem. Well first of all, I think that they are not very bright just giving you three days every six months to miss. Sometimes you just cannot control what happens. I am diabetic, and I get sick quite often. I have brought in doctor excuses, does wal-mart care? Hell no...they just want you there to help the company make money. Recently my dad was in the hospital back in Texas with a possible heart attack. I called in, as most people would. I was very concerned, and wal-mart was my last priority at that time. Did I get in trouble? You bet your ass I did. Now, I called this past week to let them know that I would be late due to car trouble. I got to talking to Support Manager Mike (who I have never met and did not know that they could not tell you not to come in) it was snowing pretty hard here in Michigan, and he told me just to take the day off. So I gladly did! I get back to work in a few days, and Asst Manager Lee tells me that the "papers" have already been drawn up to let me go. I'm like "What the hell, I was given permission not to come in". I went through the whole story, and he was not convinced. He let me work that night (only closer, so of course). I was off the following two days. When I came back in sunday morning, he let me go. Support Manager Mike denied ever speaking with me. They would not take my word. Meanwhile Asst Lee is bragging about all the cars and houses he has, knowing damn well that the economy is hard right now, and I might not be able to find another job. Now I am trying to get unemployment, but since he put it in as a termination, I am not sure that I will get it. Anyway, I am sure wal-mart will fight tooth and nail not to give me anymore money...the bastards!!!
So, I fully understand how you feel, and what you are going through. Wal-mart sucks, plain and simple! Good luck, I hope it all works out for you!!!
