my therapist says it's time....time to stop weekly meetings. she wants me to start on bi weekly meetings. i know that i'm ready to do this....afterall, i've been going a year and a half. but i hate changes...and that's a huge change. i'm ready, but am i ready???? i'm sooo scared....i have this thought every day that it's all ok, i can talk about it in less then a week...and it comforts me. but i guess that's what change is....getting out of your comefort zone....but it's ssssooooo hard. anyone got any advice to make this change a little easier?

Jeez. This IS a major change. Are you sure you're ready? Is this something you were thinking about before your therapist brought it up? Or did it come out of the blue?

The only advice I can give you may not be good advice, but it helps me when I need my therapist and can't see him. I talk to my therapist in my head. You could do this too on the off weeks. Same day, same time.

i think i'm ready. i have thought about it some before, but not seriously thought about it. but it did come out of the blue a bit. and yeah, she did say i was making lots of steps forward, and that she wouldn't say it if she didn't think i was ready. but i'm still not sure. she said we could try it next month and decide on what to do.

i can totally try the whole talking to her in my head thing. or i could script it out on paper, huh? thanks for the tip!

Weekly meetings? To bi weekly? Dude you shall be fine. :) for the bi weekly meetings are they longer than the weekly ones? As you will probably have more to talk about now. :)

Remember we are all here to talk matey. :)

I started my meetings once a month for two months then once every three and now every 6 months. So twice a year but if I need to talk to someone I can give my consellor a call to talk.

Is it just gender issues or everything issues?

I just went from weekly to every other week, I was starting to run out of things to talk about. I keep track of what i want to talk about for my next session on a pad and i update it as i think of things. My therapist said if something comes up in between sessions that i can schedule an extra session, ask them and see. You will do just fine.

Paula.
