Gaining weight on HRT: Where does it end up?

I have a situation that I would like to see if anyone could help me out with.  I am at currently at 147 lbs and am 5'9".  I want to get down to the low 130s.  I was wondering if I were to gain some weight once I reach 130, say 10-15 lbs, and have been on HRT for at least several months, what part of my body would the weight go due to HRT?  Would it go towards my hips? Breasts? Stomach (I hope not)?  Has anyone else heard of doing something like this to help create a more feminine figure by losing weight at the beginning of HRT and then purposely gain it back to get bigger hips and bust?  Would this work?  I know that GG females tend to gain weight in these areas so would that mean after time on HRT it would work for me too?  Any response would be nice.  Thanks.

Hi, Jessica;

First, welcome to Susans.  C'mon in, the water's fine!

Second, I (and we) invite you to go to the Introductions forum and give us all a proper introduction.  It doesn't have to be fancy, unless you want it to be.

Third, I have a spare tire.  On HRT, its getting smaller.  And my hips and thighs (and breasts) are getting just a wee bit larger.  On HRT, the adipoise fat is removed from the places it naturally accumulates for your ...er, birth gender, and is redeposited where it would naturally accumulate for your target gender.  You need do nothing except continue on HRT.  BTW, a majority of the breast tissue is fat.

As to the weight, why 130?  You have a frame that is larger than a genetic female frame, so the height/weight tables don't necessarily apply.  If you go off the 'ideal' weight for a 5'9" female, you may end up undernourishing yourself.

I hope this helps you;

First time around on HRT I gained like 60lbs..... It went to all the right places and some of the wrong places... (Got the butt, got the boobs, hips and thighs)  also ended up with a small spare tire and looking way too fat in the face with an even gail all over the rest of me..... Just hopeing it dosnt happen this time around.  <Im watching closely and trying to work out accrodingly....>  Only real thing you can do I think is try and stay in shape cuz its going to go where it wants to go and you cant stop it..... *shrugs*

I've remained about the same weight and it has basically gone to all the right places except my hips.  Oh well, at least no wrong places.

I thought along the same lines Jessica.  I'm 5'8" and weight 125lbs, I gained 5lbs to 130lbs thinking/hoping it would go to my hips or bust, but I didn't see a difference, so now I'm back at 125.  I have very little body fat to redistribute.

I think that from this you can see that people react differently on HRT and while it's fun to compare and a good way to get a general idea of what to expect, I afraid that there's no real way to predict the out come on a personal basis.  I even think that a Dr would have trouble predicting.

I weigh about 180 at 5'9", so I had plenty of fat to redistribute.  I already had a butt to begin with, it's just that many areas were "enhanced".

I am 5'-9" and weigh 177 lbs the last time I was weighed two months ago.  I use to weigh around 145 before I quit smoking.  I am still working on getting rid of this spare tire around my waist.  To get to your ideal weight is to watch your diet and exercise.  Cycling, jogging, running up and down stairways and swimming are the most effective methods of burning off excessive body fat.  I would not recommend using a crash diet method to lose weight.  It can cause serious medical problems later on and possibly lead to eating disorders.  I strongly recommend losing weight gradually.  Just my $.02 worth!   ;)

Well, I used to weigh about 210, but dieted about a year and a half ago (using standard diet/excercise) and have maintained my weight ever since.
