Oddly enough... my skin was actualy softer texture wise as a guy.... didnt need to go through a bottle of cream a week to keep it moisturised.....  now If I skip one application a day it gets all dry rough and itichy....

I too have incredibly dry itchy patchy skin.  I was told it's a side effect of Spironolactone.  As a quick way to moisturize, I've settled on baby wipes (some contain moisturizers, aloe and vitamin E,) but have been on the lookout for something with a little more moisturizing power in 'em.  Does anybody know if there's such a product -- a disposable pre-moistened towlette with a good dollop of moisturizer in it for not much money?  I don't want to pay extravagantly for a name...

Moisturise, Moisturise, Moisturise and drink at least 2 litres of water a day.

I use a tinted moisturiser rather than a foundation,which has an SPF 15.

It is hard to keep any make up on when it's 120 F.... Most of my lipsticks live in the refridgerator.

Oh that makes sense.  I bet it's the water.  I normally drink lots of water because I get nauseous and faint if I get too dehydrated (from the Spiro).  Anyway, I've had GGs comment on how soft my skin was and I knew it was soft, but didn't think it was all that special.  Anyway, I bet it's drinking lots of water that makes the difference.

I thrive on water or gatorade or something like it.  sometimes I go through a gallon or more a day... I think its cuz of the dryness of this place....  Up untill recently 10% humidity was considered extreemly high  *shrugs*   I think it might be the spiro cuz I didnt have this problem the first time around and I wasnt takeing it then.

Be careful with gatorade.  It's somewhat high in potassium.  On spiro you need to watch your potassium intake as it's a potassium sparing diuretic.  Too much potassium could result in hyperkalemia, which is bad.

thanks for the heads up.....  Due to my fatuige I was going to stsrt takeing potasium supliments again....but I think I'll skip on that now.  *Hugs*

If you're concerned about your potassium levels being too low - or even because of the fatigue - then see your doctor.  It's better to have it checked and be fine than to not have it checked and be unhealthy.  Good luck.
