Does anyone have experience combining finasteride with avodart? Is there any point, or do they work so similarly that it would be redundant to combine them?

Avodart is far superior in every way over fin...it comes down to cost for many thats all.

As far as ive seen there is no need to combine Dutasteride with Finasteride, it will not cause additional DHT benefits.

Check with your practictioner as always though.

Will do. Thanks for the information!

I recently stopped taking Finasteride and I may have experienced some of those side effects. Short term memory loss and some problems speaking. They seem to have gone away since I went off it a couple months ago though.

I am taking Proscar at the recommend higher dosage.and have been for 6 months now.  I also am using Minoxidil 5%,  I have noticed filling in of the problem areas and I am growing my own hair out.

I have not noticed any of the mentioned side effects.  I also colored my hair back to it natural color which help to disguise the thinning areas.

If you are having memory/speech problems with regards to these medications, insure that you're receiving enough sleep.

My job is to talk. Sometimes for an hour+ straight. When I get good sleep, I do fine. When I have small amounts of sleep, or sleep on a bad bed/etc it's almost impossible to communicate.

I noticed short term memory problems on Spiro+dutas for a few months, but they seem to be resolving. I personally didn't seem to notice any memory issues on dutas by itself or finasteride by itself.

Generally men seem to stop taking those drugs because of the breast side effects; obviously we do not care, except perhaps a FTM wanting to avoid balding.

The psychological side effects are an indirect effect of the medicine.
Men who love sex and lose their ability can be obsessed about it.

As a person with OCD I was in the vivid dream state while awake for maybe 3 months, without being on medications.

It's caused mostly by anxieties, worries and obsessions about the two.

The speech is pretty much related to it, as you feel disconnected from reality.
Short term memory less - same, things are a lot less solid therefore you lose your grip with what's happening.

I doubt you have anything to worry about the psychological effects as you probably don't need to "connect" with a male sexual organ down there on your own body (either you don't have it or don't like it probably) like the guy who said he can't connect to it anymore in some forum reporitng those symptoms said.

Hi...I've been away for a couple of weeks... :icon_wave:

I've just noticed the recent interest in this thread.. ;)

The main point is that there are a number of side effects to this drug which are not made clear by suppliers, and this thread was intended as an early warning on the symptoms that could be experienced by and individual.

From what I can see there are many people who are happy with the medication , and some who simply cannot get along with it at all.

Spotting early which category you fall into, by being aware the potential lesser known symptoms, can can save a lot of trouble and cost, as the declared side effects may sound only positive to those of us who are looking for MtF results.

Good Luck

While a penis sleeve may help your issue somewhat, you will still have your problem, and I don't think it's a good idea to depend on such a thing. I had a similar issue and thought about using something like this too because I was wary of the idea of taking pills or even seeing a doctor. Here's my advice: never be afraid of getting some professional medical help! I am happy I did. Most likely, your treatment course will take time, so while you are getting there, you can use both pills and this sleeve. Taking Viagra was enough for me; it helped me in many ways and it did boost my self-confidence. There are lots of online shops where you can get it; I use this one: ViagraOnline . Hope my advice helps.
