Hi all,

My name is Carina. I identify as a M2F transsexual. I am on HRT and have been for 10 months now. I am medically transitioning and incrementally socially transitioning with the plan to be transitioned fully in 2 years or so. The biggest hang up being my current job. I work in state government and plan on transfering to another agency as soon as I get the oppertunity to.

Anyway, I am now coming out socially on other online groups and also in reality at trans support meetings and local PFLAG chapters.

I hope to become a part of the family as I need all the support that I can get. I also hope to be able to help others here as well.

take care,
Carina.

Hello and welcome dear. I thought maybe you were from Cali. It is a city in Colombia. The northern part. I had a GF from there once. She was very attractive. I bet you are also. Hugs,Genny

Welcome to Susan's, Carina.

I'm glad for you that things are moving along well for you.  It is good to have a plan and be working on it.

For me, the first step was to come out to professional helpers - doctor, counselor, minister - and the nearby LGBT people.  It gave me the courage to start coming out to my straight friends.

If Cali is California, I would think the state government would support your transition at the workplace.  (But I don't live in California any more and don't work for a state government, so what do I know. ::))

Anyway, I'm glad you're here.  Welcome.  Jump in and let us know what you think and how you feel. :D

They sure will.  If it were me, though, I'd use my state gov't experience to get a job with the city of SF where not only do they support transitioning on the job, but they'll pay for it as well.

You know I have thought about that. I'm familiar with the City and my family owns property there so moving could be a possibility depending on how they take me coming out to them (Working on that issue) But I am seriously contemplating getting into the therapy field to help others like us once I get myself in a good place. I just came from my new therapists tonight smiling. It has been a long time since I've smiled about things and I smiled a lot tonight. he's new to me but now that I am telling my story to others is is not so painful anymore.

I told him many things between him & I and got a lot of feedback from him as well. My trans issues aren't that big of a deal as I seem to have a well thought out, properly timed and realistic goals and expectations. Lurking in trans groups (Like this one) over 10 years has given me tons of information.

Anyway Glad to be here! I wish it didn't take me so long to get here.
Carina.
