I went to Home Depot this morning. I hadn't shaved because I'm waiting to do that before I go out tonight. I was wearing ladies shorts, gym shoes, watch and diamond stud earrings. The only thing that wasn't purchased in the ladies dept. was a short sleeved henley top I was wearing.
So I go to one of those scan it yourself registers and after I scan something it tells me there's something in the bag that isn't supposed to be there. Then I hear the lady working these registers behind me say, "Just one moment ma'am" as she cleared the item. I looked over at her. My electrologist has been concentrating on dark hairs so most are gone (I didn't have much) but there are still some left. She looked at me and smiled, like nothing was unusual. Then she came over and told me the item didn't clear and rescanned it for me.
My head was spinning. Okay, so the clothes and jewelry are female but nothing that guys don't wear, except the watch, but I have facial stubble and I'm being called ma'am. I want to hang onto the moment but I'm thinking she had to see the facial stubble. When I left she gave me a big smile and thanked me for shopping. What baffled me was her smile was so genuine, not forced at all.
This is the fourth time this has happened except the first three were when I was in work clothes and I knew they knew they made a mistake. This time I didn't get that feeling from the sales lady. Whatever, it was still nice but a bit confusing.
