Hello friends,
I sorta wanted to get this in the open and see what you all thought about this.  Well, I know that with self-injecting you must be very careful, especially if you inject T into your leg (thigh).  All is going well so far (I've been on T since 2002).  I switch legs everytime I inject.  I noticed my thighs have a lot of scar tissue though, because I don't feel anything when the needle goes through the skin.  Well, ONE time (this has only happened once), I injected with my right hand into my left thigh.  I must have had the needle stuck in too sideways.  I injected anyway because I felt it just 'slide in' (which usually tells me that it's already glided into the muscle... I always massage my legs before injecting, that may be a problem too.  I'll see what you all have to say before I make my judgement though).  After the shot, the whole area around where I got the shot was numb for about an hour or so.  It was so strange because I never had any problem with this happening before.
And for a small introduction since I am new here, I'm 25/m/usa, ky.  My name is Alexander.
Thank you for reading.  Take care!

My comment is that I hope these are prescribed hormones and that your having a doctor run your labs every few months.  You could also ask the doctor about the scar tissue.

I am diabetic and take shots twice every day and have no scar tissue yet.

If you think it's scar tissue just by the lack of sensation I doubt that's the case. It could just be the effect of taking T. Male skin is more dense and 25% less sensitive than female skin.

The needle shouldn't be sideways, only straight up and down. Try to inject properly every time to avoid issues.

Please do not discuss self medication without a doctor's prescription on this site, it is a violation of rule 8.

Quote8. The discussion of hormone replacement therapy(HRT) and it's medications are permitted, with the following limitations:

      A. Advocating for or against a specific medication or combinations of medications for personal gain is strictly prohibited.
      B. Discussing the means to acquire HRT medications without a prescription, and self medication without a doctors care is prohibited.
      C. Discussing dosages is strongly discouraged to prevent information obtained on this site from being used to self medicate.

We can not in good conscience condone the self administering of these medications. Not only may self medication be illegal, but HRT medications can cause serious health problems, and many have the potential for life-threatening side effects that can only be detected and prevented with proper medical supervision.
