I'm just wondering if a post-op becomes old and she no longer wants to have sexual relationship, can she stop dilation completely? Will the urination hole at least still be there?

Of course you could, but why would you want that, that's a really odd question to ask.

Well if ever I succeed transition, when I become old, I don't see the necessity of having a vaginal hole if I won't intend to have sex anymore. And what about the pee hole, will it still be there without having to dilate the vagina?

I've always wanted to live in a neighborhood with you.

So let's make the most of this beautiful day,
Since we're together, we might as well say,
Would you be mine?
Could you be mine?
Won't you be my neighbor?" - Fred Rogers

Yes, the Pee hole will be there.
But.. you won't have a vagina if you don't dilate.

Doesn't matter, won't need it by the way when I'm old.

If you want to keep your vagina, yes, dilation is necessary and a lifetime commitment.

I haven't reached that privileged status of "middle-aged" or "old" yet >:-) ;D Dilation either done by me or my boyfriend is a must.  I would hate for my vagina to collapse, but I used to know someone, a woman of transsexual history in her 60's who claimed that she'd stopped dilating altogether.  Apparently, she wasn't interested in sex anymore, and according to what she used to say, her vagina had closed completely.  Kind of scary if you ask me!

I suppose the scariest thing that could ever happen to you is if you get SRS done and your thrown in jail without the right or proper right of dialation. O_O

Many old people have sex, some old folks homes are like orgies.
Also, as you age, you will need to dilate less and less anyway.

I suspect you are a long way off from that point, and by then odds are new things will be available.

I'm with Leslie on this one, I have a friend who works with elderly patients, not all little old ladies are all that innocent.

I'm not giving up my vagina until they pry it from my cold dead fingers!! uh... or something like that.

I know people who have stopped dilating and they have lost depth. In at least one instance, the vagina healed completely shut. I also know people who stopped dilating for a while, and then found themselves getting romantically involved with someone. When they started dilating again, it was extremely painful and they found that they lost depth permanently.

Honestly, I don't understand why anyone would stop dilating. It's just not that big of a thing after 6 months or so. Yes, the first few months post op, dilation runs your life. But after 6 months or so, it's 30 minutes after you get up and 30 minutes before you go to bed. It's not painful, and it can become pleasurable.

As I see it, it's better to keep up with maintenance and have a functional vagina that you have spent a lot of money for and worked many years to attain then to let it go to waste by not dilating.

In jail, you don't need to worry sweetie as you'll have many natural dilators of all sizes who would be more than happy to dilate you effortlessly.  >:-)

This is a cute thread. I suggest trying to dilate your urethra now to get in practice. Use it or lose it, right?

Its not even a case of sexual relationships, Im 24years post op, as a woman I want my vagina to stay healthy, I want my vagina functional and to maintain my depth, my BF dilates me regularly, if theres a time when he's not around, then I'II have to do it myself, as Matilda says ''dilation is a necessary and a lifetime commitment''
Next year I'II be 25years post op, with good maintenance hopefully my vagina will be in good condition for the next 25years and beyoud, a girl has got to do what a girl has got to do, to keep pussy functional and healthy.

I'm not sure about other countries, but here in England the law tends to send you to prison based on you gender as stated on your birth certificate. So a MtF transsexual will get sent to a male prison and a FtM will get sent to a female prison.
