I am new to this site and am an emotional mess....I don't know where else to turn. I am 44 male but love  ALL  things female. Nails clothes and so on (thus my user name). I am married and love my wife verry much. I started feeling this way (strong female instincts) about a year ago. I don't want to become 100% female (surgery) but would like to aquire many more feminine traits. breasts (small is ok) hips, and so on. Has anyone gone thru this?

And secondly, yours is a very familiar story on this site. I hope that you find the answers that you are looking for.

Hi Michelle :icon_wave:

Welcone to Susans.. :icon_flower:

Being an "emotional mess" is something a lot of us have in common, and "going through this" is something that we all do at some time, some for a longer period than others..

If you have only experienced this for a year so far, and you are already thinking in terms of changing your body, there is a possibility that the feelings will get stronger with time.

The only way to achieve what you are looking for will be with medication, so I suggest you consider finding a gender therapist as a starting point. This will enable you to discuss your emotions with someone who understands what you are going through, and ultimately they will be able to recommend you for the medication your are considering.

Don't hold you breath though, these issues are not "cured" overnight, and international standards of care will require that you undertake therapy for a 3 month period before any recommendations can be made.

Due to the serious health risks, and the difficulty in controlling results, we do not condone self medication or discuss dosage on this site.

You are definitely not alone Michelle! I hope you can find help here. I usually tell ppl a helpful step to take is seeking out a therapist if/when you're comfortable with that. It can help to work through your feelings and figure out where you really stand with everything.

On the other hand it sometimes just helps to be able to express yourself like this online, tell your story, etc. Hope you feel comfortable to do so here.

Welcome to Susan's, Michelle.  Your story is similar to many here.  As the others have said, it will help you talk to a gender therapist or, if you can't find one, a regular therapist.  You're talking about big changes, and you will need help along the way.  We're glad to help, but talking one-on-one to some trained to listen to you will help a lot.

Look around.  You'll find lots of information here.
