I haven't been hiding from the neighbours but I live quietly and as many of you know, I'm not FT as yet.
Anyhow, this evening 31 Oct 09, Aussie time. My front door bell went. I went to answer it as I was expecting my sister in law for dinner and a DVD. Opened the door and there was several of the neighbour hood children trick or treating (This is not a usual occurrence in Australia). Of course I was fully made up and dressed getting ready for dinner etc. The childrens' parents, my local neighbours were all discreetly standing a few yards behind their children. I just said, "wait a second", grabbed a bag of mini choc bars from the cupboard and let the kids help themselves, plunging their hands into the bag to grab one. I was of course by now crouched down so they could reach (5-7yr olds)into the bag. And I was making jokes, "Make sure the goblin doesn't grab you and grab someones hand in the bag, lots of squeals."
Kids laughing, not much sounds from the parents.
So I finally said "Happy Halloween" waved and closed the door.
If they didn't know before, they sure do now.
