I feel kinda depress even though it shouldn't matter, but my voice broke on a virtual game. And then everyone was chanting, "You're a guy! ->-bleeped-<-! Freak! Horror movie! Sicko!"

I was like no, and then I left the game.

Felt horrible basically.

Easy fix for that is "I am coming down with Laryngitis again.  It always happens".

Ouch. Some people can really be jerks, especially when they're safe behind their keyboard... We need a keyboard with a boxing glove that pops out and hits you if you act like that.

And I don't know why they'd do that, considering so many female characters are played by males regardless of gender ID...

Not to be a shrew, but what were you doing on teamspeak if your voice isn't reliable? You were setting yourself up for failure. I'm sorry it happened and that you were called all those names. First of all it sounds like you need better company, and second turn off the stupid game and come hang out here in the real world with the cool kids.

Honestly, it is good practice.  If you can pass on the phone/mic? when the person has no other clues about your gender you are doing fairly well.

To the OP, that sucks totally!  I'm so sorry you had to suffer such idiotic ridicule.  Realize though until it was a guild meeting, you'll never need to deal with those peeps again, so just jump back on an enjoy yourself.   What game were you playing BTW?

I was at a night club, but it's not really that this happen. But I guess I just don't want that to happen in reality, and it's making me worried how hard it is to get the voice. I could care less about their opinions, but I guess I am stereotyping society to think this way.

Without the voice everything else is failure in my opinion.

Second Life is full of people who are scared to go into nightclubs in real life.  I wouldn't worry about it.  Club life has its own code if your talking about a city with lots of clubs.

Or you could just turn the Second Life off and go live your first one. I'm going to stop now because I get preachy fast when it comes to the life-sucking time draining stupidity of mmos.

Similar problem for me, but with the face. Too masculine. I'm seeking to have FFS to fix it. The voice will follow, though there are times when I sound not quite male already.

That really sucks. I would have made some crap up on the spot. I'm generally good at thinking quickly with responses that are actually believable.

Yesterday, I called MAC Cosmetics up to schedule a makeover. There's a dance put on by a TG group on Saturday so I wanted to have a nice smokey eye thing going...something more glam than my everyday look.

Well the gal on the phone at one point asked me if it was for a girl or for me. My heart sank. I said it was for me. She then asked if I wanted a "drag" look and I was like NO!!! Well I didn't yell but I felt like it.

Now I wish I'd have said "Yes it's for me and I'm a girl" or "It's for me and I'm transgender".

Ah well, working on voice with a therapist now, it'll be a few months though, no doubt.

Yah I hate regrets like that...."I shoulda said...."

I essentially said "no drag, I'm going to a dance". She seemed to understand...I just felt so upset about it.
