Any tips on how to do this? Something you read online, a YouTube video, anything like that?
well, my girlfriend is a singer as is my sister and all of their friends so I had plenty of experience with the lecture of breathe from your diaphragm. I didn't read anything online but I didn't really look.
I started with breathing REALLY deep without a binder and concentrating on sucking the air all the way down into the bottom of your lungs and making sure your stomach moves in and out when you breathe instead of your chest. (this also decreases the attention to the moobs when breathing in public which most of us have to do) and then practice with a binder. It hurts for awhile until you are used to actually filling your lungs up that much. Pretty much do that until you are used to just breathing and don't have to concentrate anymore. And THEN start talking, just a bit at first(I practiced in my room) and then having short conversations with people saying thank you at restaurants and such and then eventually you will talk like that all the time.
Clearing your throat alot helps rough up your voice and bio guys actually do it alot anyways. Speak pretty much in a monotone and pay attention and try to eliminate any pitch changes when you change emotions. Remember change VOLUME not PITCH.
