...anything I should know last-minute before I go in?

1. Take as much pain killer as you can beforehand (within legal and medically advisable limitation, of course).

2. Drink lots of water the day before you go in so that you're well hydrated (if you're dehydrated it's less effective).

3. Assuming this is electrolysis on your face, don't shave for at least 24 hours beforehand... possibly 48 if your hair grows slowly.

4. Don't get your hopes up to see some huge change immediately. It takes time. Every zap you experience is one step closer to your goal. But there are a LOT of those steps needed before you're there. Don't get easily discouraged.

5. And lastly, keep your mind on the long term goal. No pain, no gain. ;)

Good Luck!

I am thinking of doing the same thing,  just not happy with laser.  Plus most is grey, which laser won't touch.

Went in today for about 30 mins.  Pain was not as bad as I was expecting -- about the same as the time I plucked it all out by hand.  In fact it hurt more when she plucked it out after zapping it, than the actual zapping.  On this visit she decided we might end up mixing in the laser as well.  Next appointment is next Thursday!

You are not supposed to feel any plucking. If she has to pluck then I don't think she is completely killing the follicle. The electricity changes the juice down there into something nasty, and if it's nasty enough the hair should slide right out. If it's not nasty enough, viola, a pluck and it could regrow. Are you sure you aren't feeling the needle going in? Sometimes in the smaller pores it feels like that.

Does this person have much experience doing facial hair? It sounds like we are having different experiences, maybe I'm such a baby that I'm smarting too much from the zap to notice...but my last trip in high on percocet I didn't feel much of anything, especially not tugging. If she isn't using enough power or whatever, that would explain why it doesn't hurt near enough  :icon_wink:

If your hair feels like it is being plucked , chances are the root of the hair is not being killed. My eletcro experience is finally coming to an end after about 2 and a half years. I enjoyed the pain and tears so much i even had my brows done. sarcasm
