I am new to the site, and am planning on changing into a male. I have wanted to be a man since I was 13.  I am actually saving up money and stuff to get to do it. If anybody has any advice or anything, plz feel free to help. I am a little nervous, because I have not told to many people about it. As a matter of fact, my family doesn't know because they would shun the thought, but not the action, if it makes sense.

Hi

I don't know your exact situation but normally your first step is to find a gender therapist. That person can answer questions and write letters for hormones and/or surgeries. They will also help you with dealing with the reast of the world and sorting your own thoughts out.

There are other options and many degrees of transitioning. Which is best for you is for you to figure out.

Welcome to Susan's.  :icon_flower:

There's a lot of good information and good people here.  Each of our stories is unique but we have a lot in common.  Settle in, pull up a keyboard, and explore.

Be sure to look under the Announcements heading.  There you will find the rules we live by in this little world of ours: "Site Terms of Service and Rules to Live By", "Standard Terms and Definitions", and "Post Ranks".  Look through the other stuff there, too, like "Age and the Forums".

As LordKAT said, transition is not an all-or-nothing proposition - there are many stops along the way.  And as he said, it is usually very helpful to have someone you can talk to who is non-judgemental and trained to listen to what you are saying and not saying - a therapist.

You might also look for support groups in your area.  Many places have them.  Some are helpful and some aren't, but it can be really useful to listen to others' experiences.

Happy exploring and good luck. :icon_wave:

Feel free to post your successes/failures, Hopes/dreams.  Ask questions and seek answers. Give and receive advice.

But remember we are family here, your family now. And it is always nice to have another brother. :icon_hug:
