Don't know if this is a good thing or a bad thing. I think its the latter... :(

Guess me wanting and being a woman so bad that I somehow managed to get a yeast infection to the prostrate, urethra and the rest of those naughty bits.  Talk about itch and burn....is there anything that can be applied or taken over the counter?

I can't afford to see a doc, so any input would be helpful...

Itchy scratchy,

First of all , drink LOTS of water and cranberry juice.  Cranberry juice will NOT cure existing UTIs, but it will keep any new molecules from binding.

You are going to need antibiotics.  Do not screw around with this, see if your doctor has samples of something.  You could get kidney failure out of this and you dont want to take that chance.

Ugh. My condolences.   Given the inaccessibility of those parts, you may have to bite the bullet and see a doctor.   :-\  If it were just external, I would recommend Monostat (or similar), or if that was too pricey, unflavored, sugar free yogurt.  (Sugar changes the natural PH of your body and can make the yeast infection worse.) Incidentally, for future reference, eating yogurt can help prevent yeast infections.  I've had a couple of doctors suggest doing that when taking antibiotics in order to re-establish the good bacteria that get killed off along with the bad.

I couldn't take it anymore.  I had to do something.  I am on an antibiotic, for the internal issues, and...I bought monistat for the external issues.  I must say it is helping, but I have been fighting this now for the last week.  So it will take time for this to clear up.  Ugh, indeed :(  Hopefully when this goes away, I will have to learn to use something that breaths better, as this is not fun at all.  As for yogurt, never figured out a way of liking it.  I guess I will have to try to find one I do like.  Sux, cuz I am taking an antibiotic, and that kills all the good bacteria that I need. :(  Guess I just treat the symptoms for now until the antibiotics run their course, then add some probiotic to help get me out of this mess.  I will definately watch how much sugar I take in.  I need to lose at least 50 pounds anyway, so I will switch to splenda or something similar.

Bought cranberry juice, with half the calories and half the sugar too.  That stuff is pretty yummy :)  Thanks for the help :) :) :)

Believe it or not, but natural yoghurt spread on the outside will clear external yeast infections.

Yeah, sorry, I wasn't clear.  That's what I meant with the plain yogurt - use it as a topical.   Eating yogurt is also good, but slower.   I don't think the amount of sugar you eat makes any difference as far as PH levels go, but putting sugary stuff in warm, moist areas (besides your mouth)  is not a good idea.
