Feeling tired all the time on T?

I've never heard anyone report this symptom, but it kind of makes sense because the body is going through another puberty.

I'm tired all the time now and I sleep longer than necessary. I don't really have 'more' energy, if anything I feel more lethargic. Anyone else get like this?

yes! i do...i sleep like there is no end....i think it could be due to a few things tho....i work a very crazy schedule and i feel like im on a very low dose of T (half than what the average take) (yes i hate it)....and then im sometimes depressed as well, just from stress and things like that...but yea im very worn down and lethargic

Isn't that the opposite effect that T has (and puberty too) on males?

supposedly...but then again everyone is different...and everyone's circumstances are different also...thats why i feel like my lethargy may be (hopefully) due to my low dose, work schedule, etc

One of my friends suggested it's the body going in 'shock' with the change in hormones.

I fluctuate actually, during the day I have a lot of more energy than I did preT but I sleep much deeper than I did preT and sleep longer. And in the morning it takes me a lot longer to be fully awake.

Don't teens just sleep more? It'll probably fix itself after (second) puberty, right?

No it isn't. When I was at school (few years ago) all (or at least most) the guys were VERY tired all the time and slept until late even if they went to sleep are normal hours.

But then again, a lot of the girls were like that too. So ;)

I am one of those people who barely slept during first puberty and same goes for second one :P

Actually sounds kind of like my brothers.

I'm starting to feel sick, though.

Your brothers also went through double puberty without being tired? :D or the being tired all the time thing?

I used to get tired easily at times and I need alot of sleep, but I notice T gives me more energy and less tiredness. I do have my crash moments though.

I was wired on T at first.  Not sure if it was just the happiness of finally starting or something hormonal.  It died down after several months, but I still do have more energy/endurance compared to pre-T.

As far as the sleeping, though: my sleeping patterns went right back to how they were when I was a teenager.   I was a horrible pseudo-insomniac as a teenager and couldn't fall asleep before midnight, no matter how tired I was; when I did get to sleep, it was a deep sleep that lasted 10+ straight hours.  When I got to my 20's, 8 hours was sufficient and an 11pm-7am schedule worked well for several years.

After T, I soon found myself needing 10 hours of sleep again to not feel tired all the time, but I couldn't fall asleep before midnight no matter how much I (physically & mentally) tired myself out during the day.  Thankfully, my sleep habits are slowly shifting back to the 8 hour, asleep by midnight schedule.

When I "went on T" (i.e., puberty, age 13, and a terrible year it was) I slept about 14 hours a day, no exaggeration.

There are/were days where I only wake up to eat! I have/had some days/weeks especially early on when I slept a ton. I was always tired. It's not as bad now but I did have a week recently where I slipped back into it.
Cheers

after i get my shot i tend to sleep for like 3 days then im okay again. weirdly enough this was something i experienced and at the time no one reassured me on. everyone was like er no.. youre meant to feel all adrenaline - rushed etc. 2 yrs on and i still get tired haha and i get tested regularly at my endo. i think its all to do with your body developing if im honest since a lot of teenagers do just that - sleep

I went through a long period of sleeping an average of every other night.  For not always the most natural reasons [nothing too awful I can assure you!]  Which ended a couple months before starting T.  For this reason I cannot truthfully say whether or not it was my lifestyle adjustment that has caused an increase in my sleepiness or the T.  I will, however, say that previous to those couple years spent in somewhat glorious a state of functionality I usually went to bed around 3 or 4 and had to wake up for 6 for school 5 days a week and never had a problem with fatigue.  I will though tell you that now that I am on T I haven't missed a night of sleep in ages and if/when I do I don't feel so hot the next day.

I will say that I deal with having less sleep better than before.  Pre-T it was "I'd rather not sleep than sleep less than 5 hours or so" I honestly felt better without.  With T I'd much rather sleep 2 or 3 hours than not at all.

I also don't feel more tired during the day. I just find myself actually becoming tired at night, and not the kind of tired you can just work through.  Tired like I can't concentrate on my hw because I'm too sleepy so I'm going to bed... but its only 12 or 1.
I solemnly swear I am up to no good.

Hmm, I'm not on T yet but there have been many times i've been so tired that I could barely function.  My doc started doing B-12 shots because he said my B-12 was abnormally low.  I seem to go thru periods of being ok and other times I can't sleep for ->-bleeped-<-.  Wonder how going onto T will help, and or hinder that.
