Yes, I can definitely understand how you feel - I went through nearly 20+ years of cheap lenses and frames until my current pair (Oakley frame + Nikon lenses). I can't say that I can ever go back to Lenscrafter-type glasses unless if it's economically necessary.

I was seriously considering going for contact lenses post-transition but after an informal poll of my friends and SO, I'm apparently less of a spectacle with spectacles than without.

What a coincidence Nathan, I brought new glasses yesterday my self.  I wear contacts, but  in the evening I like to take them out and wear glasses to give my eyes a break.  Anyway I usually go for the rimless frames but this time I tried a more stylish ones and in pink & lavender.  They were kind of expensive, but I'm worth it LOL.

You look quite sophisticated in yours Nathan, very vogue even and if I may say you're quite a handsome devil.
