Yea, he looks like a young narcicist.  Mid teens I'd say.  I'm not seeing much of that beautiful young girl that used to look back at me.  Pretty boy, hollywood man, maybe male model when he gets older.  Glasses do detract.  And may I make a suggestion?  Don't stand in front of that cabinet door or whatever it is that makes it look like you have an earing dangling from your left ear!

So you feel a bit narcicistic?  Good for you hon.  Revel in it.  You only get to do this once.

Cindi

Wow, thanks, heh...  This is all going straight to my head, be careful :)

I found out I can get new frames at Meijer down the road for $29 plus whatever the lenses cost...  You can get 3 pairs for $129 so should be easy to get one for under $100 :D

Here are my guns...  This is about a month of working out, up almost an inch around the upper arm!  They're still pretty small, but hey, I'm making good progress...  I kinda have skinny boy arms now instead of skinny girl arms I think, cept for the soft skin.

Bicep:

Tricep:

And I gots man veins in the 2nd pic...  Always had them but they're becoming more prominent from working out.  And I switched to men's deodorant, and voila, the stuff actually works on me.  Women's deodorant never did much, I didn't sweat often but when I did, it didn't help at all.  The men's stuff work so well I actually forgot to put it on one day and still smelled fine after working out.  Crazy.

And no, I don't make that face on purpose because it's more manly, I'm just trying not to shake the camera :P  I hope I'm not too camera crazy for you guys, I'm just so excited about everything and get anxious if I'm not doing *something* transition-related for too long...

Like this :)  (I left it uncropped cuz it cracked me up that this was the best picture I could take without my glasses on.  As if the camera needs them too, heh)

Mikko, when I saw your picture en femme, I never would have believed that shot you just posted.  Brother and sister perhaps.  It is a wonderful change for you. And all this without T. You are an inspiration dude.

Thanks guys :)  You're all so encouraging!  With the amount of time I spend exercizing I better be making crazy progress.  I do aerobics (DDR) for 30-45 minutes, which the game tells me is equivalent to running 5 miles (though I kinda doubt that) and then lift for another 30-45 minutes.  If I'm sore or sick I skip one or the other but I do something every day and do both at least 5 days of the week.  I probably have spent another couple hours every day looking up passing tips and ftm sites.  Really my progress is probably indicative of a dangerous obsession o_o

And Taylor, man, you're largely responsible for my increasingly-masculine build, thanks for all your advice!  I haven't successfully cut all carbs (I eat mutigrain Cheerios every morning, that stuff is equivalent to like 5 different vitamin supplements rolled in one actually quite delicious breakfast), but I have vastly increased my protein intake and of course all the advice on lifting is proving sooo helpful :D

And Lynn - You don't want my body? ;) Hehehe... GET IT!  Well, I'm flattered and I wouldn't give it up anymore either :D

Mikko,

Don't confuse complex carbs with carbs. We all need complex carbs, you find them in beans, and multi grains are absolutely great for you and your digestive system! ( Keep the Morning cereal dude! great plan!)  Also you may want to try lentils if you have not, good source of iron too. Carbs are tricky because while the reg carbs sack your energy and turn to sugar in breakdown, the Complex Carbs are what we call good carbs and you need them!

I really am impressed with your progress. And even if you are on a compulsive kick, it is a healthy one, that you can find a pace for as you go on and that will give you a healthy living style! Sounds pretty good to me!

Keep us updated man your really doing impressively well!

Peace
Taylor

Remember to keep an eye on the proportions that you are taking in, not just the quantity.  Also it is important to let your muscles rest and recover.  If you do not then you will hit times when it appears that your body just refuses to muscle up any more and you may even lose some ground.   Yes, you are looking good and look like some of the young men I see out and about in the city.

Oh, yeah, I still eat a wide variety of foods, with some beans and multigrains every day, and I don't lift if I'm too sore.  My bf used to be really into lifting so he's helped me a lot and set up my plan with me and taught me proper form and such.  He said I could probably expect to plateau at about 3 months and stop seeing much more growth.

I started out curling 10 lbs and I'm up to 20, and for the shoulders I actually need to go buy more weights cuz the biggest I have is 25 and I can do 3 sets on that already.  Oddly my left bicep seems just a little stronger than my right (I'm right-handed) but the left tricep is weaker, probably from when I was working a fulltime day job and having wrist problems so I'd do certain things only with one arm or the other.  I've been trying to balance them out by doing the same exercise on each arm even if the stronger one feels like it could to another couple reps, but it hasn't really changed yet.  Is there a better way to work on that?  I don't want to be lop-sided :P

I've been kind of suprised at the rate of growth too, but I seem to put on and maintain muscle with very little effort, so now that I'm consciously trying it sort of makes sense how fast I've been getting bigger.  That has been the biggest reason why keep saying I think I may have higher T than normal.

On another note, what do you guys think about these haircuts:

I think mine is too long on the top and want something more stylish.  I've been looking at pics of Asian guys for ideas cuz I look Asian and Asian celebs tend to have really great haircuts, guess I could look for Latino guys too (though they're culturally not as metro/androgynous).  Also, Takeshi Kaneshiro is scorchingly hot so looking up pics of him is fun, and he's gay so I have a shot, right? :)

So do you think either of these styles would look good on me or have any suggestions?  Maintenance doesn't bother me - it did when I had girl hair but I've been styling it daily since I cut it off and I like it.
  •

Nero

Hi Mikko.
Actually, I think either cut would flatter you. :)
And yeah, that Takeshi guy is hot.
Nero was the Forum Admin here at Susan's Place for several years up to the time of his death.

I do like the one in the pic on top, but it might just be the way the hair is styled--upkeep issues for daily wear? The way your hair is now looks pretty good, though.
Lock up yer daughters.
  •

nonie

Thanks guys :)  I like that top one too.  The upkeep's not that big a deal because I've been upkeeping daily since i cut it shorter and already have the right product for that style.  The messy look is a lot easier than anything I did to my hair when it looked girly, heh

Mikko,
I vote for the one on top too. And by the way, my friend in Indiana whom I have known since the 7th grade tells me she thinks you are very hot. She is very much attracted to androg people. So I guess that is what you look like. She is too funny.

Mikko,

Good pics dude.  I'm probably older than most on here but in my generation guys always parted there hair on the left, that may not apply anymore, I don't know. My hair is too short to part now, but when it was longer I parted it on the left. That's just what I was taught, don't know if it makes a difference now.

Take care Mikko,
Scott
