Android

Hello...um...I'm sorry I am extremely nervous...>///< this is the first time posting a thread has made me feel so shy...I think its because I really need to be accepted here and I am afraid of saying the wrong thing...

So...let me start out by saying Im not usually like this.  I'm very "unique" I have neon hair and I couldnt care less what the people at my school think about me...most of the time.

I'm kinda messed up in the head, the doctors change my diagnosis a few times a year, right now they say I'm "schitzo affective bipolar dissorder, depressive".  But thats a long word, so you can call me Android :)
(my failed attempt at humor...)

I am biologically female...

I've always identified with the transgender comunity...ever since I was a child, I wished I had been born intersexed.  In middle school I read "Luna", a book about a MtF, and I loved it.  I identified so much with the characters...I wished I was born a boy so I could be a Mtf...yeah I don't get it but I kind of felt like a MtF traped in a female body...but I'm coming to realize the term "genderfluid" fits me best.

When I was in middle school I didnt know there was such a thing as FtM, so I wished I could be a boy and be MtF.  Recently I've been wanting to begin life as FtM but to cut my hair short and the other things...I wouldnt look good as a girl then, and sometimes I still feel kind of like a girl.  Now I realize I just cant always fill just one gender role...I fluctuate from masculine to feminine, and everywere inbetween.

I'm going to work on pulling off the androgynous look...I would feel more comfortable that way...if that was my normal and when I was feeling more masculine or feminine depending on how I felt that day...honestly an androgyne look and life would be perfect for me...when I was considering FtM the boy I wanted to become would have been a rather androgynous emo/scene/punk...

Sorry if I ranted, I just needed to try to explain myself and be honest, and find people to talk to this about.

I really hope I can make friends on here and get advice :)

Hey Android, welcome to the club.
If you checked out the andro boards yet you've probably seen quite a few folk that experience feelings similar to yours.
There's never any haste to figure out who you are, and I think the experimenting you're starting out with is great, good, and will probably give you quite a few answers.

Be cool, be mellow, and never fear to throw out a PM when you're feeling lost in Forrest the Susan (though it's kind of hard to get lost here with all the sparkly poles everywhere...)  8)

You're not alone, Android - I've got pink hair myself. ;D

I welcome you to Susan's, and wish you luck in exploring your gender identity and finding your way through the big and confusing world of gender. I'm sure you'll find some help here.

Welcome to Susan's, Android.  :icon_flower:

There's a lot of good information and good people here.  Each of our stories is unique but we have a lot in common.  Settle in, pull up a keyboard, and explore.

As Janet said, be sure to look under the Announcements heading or follow her links to read the rules we live by in this little world of ours.

There are quite a few androgynes and genderfluid people here, so you should feel right at home.  As no_id said, there's no hurry.

Happy exploring. :icon_wave:

Luna!

...Did someone say my name? I thought I heard it somewhere. ^_^

Welcome to Susan's! There are a lot of interesting people here, neon hair or otherwise.
No real need to be nervous, either; nearly everyone's really friendly and glad to help with things.

Androgyny/genderfluidity seems to be one of those things where there's as many ways to go about it as there are people trying to, so feel free to try things out. It can be kinda fun!

Your coolness quotient just went up by 50% in my eyes. ^_^
Pink hair is awesome, I wish mine was...

Awwwh thanks, Luna!  :icon_redface: It's been pink for a couple years now. It was a full mohawk for a long time, but I chopped it in back, so now I have a big fat pink swoosh of hair for bangs.

I miss my neon hair...I had a hissy fit when I realised I had to go back to my natural shade. pah

I pretty much started out the same way. Actually, I think most people did... So, kuddos for you for bringing up the courage to finally introduce yourself. :P

Hmz, can't really completely remember where I first heard the term 'androgyne' though... I think I was humping wikipedia that day and stumbled upon it. ;)

"This guy was just sort of standing there, humping Wikipedia..."
"I met a Wikipedia-humper the other day - you know, they call themselves 'Wikipedians' - and she said the weirdest thing!"

Yes, even with all its mis-information wiki is quite magical...wow I've never heard the term "humping wikipedia"...how exactly does that work?
