Well iv managed to grow my hair nice and long and i spent alot of money and time on my hair i even brought some straightenrs in the sale and now iv found out i have a job interview next tuesday and my mum says i cant go to a job interview my my hair this long.
I just cant cut my hair i love it how it is.

Also my mum saw one of the things i brought today and she said its girly.

I wonder if i should just tell her how i feel and talk to her about it and hope for the best.
I just want to keep my hair this nice and long and shiney and tomorrow i get to try my straighteners out i also brought some hair spray that protects against the heat of the straighteners and a cool brush so hopefully i wont have frizzy hair anymore.
At the mo my hair feels like silk too.

Who in the right mind would want to cut thier hair after they spent ages growing it.

Any feedback or advice would be greate.

That's a tough spot to be in.  Perhaps just telling your mom you really want to have long hair.  If she wants to know why, perhaps you could say that cool guys have long hair or something.

I think i will say something to my mum tonight if i can becuase i dont want to cut my hair.its taken me 6 months to grow it back when i last had to cut it in early april.

my mums also moaning becuase my hair has gone cirly at the bottom but i will soon change straighten that.

Your hair may have some natural ringlets that would look quite beautiful.  Well, I have had 2 haircuts in the last year.  1 in April to give me a somewhat more feminine cut.  It was called a transitional haircut and was done by a member of the community and I was able to style both as male or female (or at least I thought I could look male ).  I had another haircut in September.  It was my first one as a woman.  I went in and never told the place I was TS.  It went just fine.  I even had them accidentally yank an earring out (it didn't hurt) and there were like 6 haircutters (all women) crawling around on the floor looking for it.  That was a sight to see and one I had to stiffle a few giggles.  It ended up still being caught in the comb.  Anyway, you do need to have your hair cut every so often in order to avoid split ends.  Is she demanding that you cut it off or would a trim to prevent split ends be sufficient?

I absolutely cannot live without my straightening iron! (That may be one of the most diva things I've ever said  ) I got one last month because Jocelyn's hair does some weird curly things in some spots so I thought it would help her out.  And it did help, so I tried it out and now we're both hooked! You're never going to want to leave your house without straightening your hair ever again!

Anyways, it's compeletly up to you if you want to come out to your mum. If you don't think you're quite ready for that try using some other excuse. The one Melissa mentioned is pretty good.  Or you could straighten it and maybe if it looks nice she won't bug you about it anymore. That's a possibility, too.

Hmm, I haven't tried mine for quite a while, at least since my hair was much shorter.  I should see how it looks now all straightened out.

Some general advice on hair straightners: 

1. Make sure your hair is completely dry before you use it or it won't work that well

2. I always use a little mousse or hairspray BEFORE using the iron. It holds much better.

3. If you have layered hair, straighten each layer seperately to get more volume out of your hair. Then hold your head upside-down and spritz with hair spray. 

My hair is layered and the ends are razored, so sometimes, after I'm done straightening it, I'll spray a bit of hairspray on my fingertips, pinch the ends of my hair and then pull it through my fingers.  It gives my hair more attitude that way!

My hair is so thick, I really don't need any more volume.  Less would be nicer.  In fact, with my last cut, they thinned out my hair without me even saying anything.  I used to get that done as male anyways previously.

As for the way my hair is currently (like in the photo), it only takes me 1 minute to do (after blowdrying it for about 5-10 minutes that is).  I just use some hairspray and a brush.

Oh, then you can just use the straightner in a downward motion. It will keep any unwanted fluffiness to a minimum and make it look really shiny, too.

Sorry but shaving your head takes time.. every other day, lots of shave cream.. And those expensive ladies razors which are the best!
One of my skills however is not in hair styling?  so regrettably i cannot help much!

is funny because i had the opposite problem i had my hair down to my rare end and my mom didnt let me cut it.
i say hair is important  even to me so i can imagine for a woman you can multiply it by alot .
if i were you i woulnd change it for anyone but myself you can pull it back for the interveiw .
and be carefull with the iron you can burn an ear off(i come from a family full of hairdressers)im the only one that burns ppls ears off anyway good luck ricky

checking back in quickly before signing off, no offense jaded, my hair was never really long or thick and after service years it receeded and never came back i think the gov sprayed stuff on us or experiemnted somehow???
