Some general advice on hair straightners:
1. Make sure your hair is completely dry before you use it or it won't work that well
2. I always use a little mousse or hairspray BEFORE using the iron. It holds much better.
3. If you have layered hair, straighten each layer seperately to get more volume out of your hair. Then hold your head upside-down and spritz with hair spray.
My hair is layered and the ends are razored, so sometimes, after I'm done straightening it, I'll spray a bit of hairspray on my fingertips, pinch the ends of my hair and then pull it through my fingers. It gives my hair more attitude that way!
