For a little while it sort of drove me nuts that a lot of men in my group--most of them are fifty and up, with a few in their forties--assumed that I was under thirty. So they would say things like, "You wouldn't remember this, but..." and "As you get into middle age, you'll find..." A lot of them assumed that I was still in school...you get the picture.

It was weird because I'm not very old in gay life, at least in terms of real experience, and in my head I've always been stuck in adolescence, and now I'm going through a real adolescence (of sorts). So I felt...chronologically challenged, but not in the way that most people mean when they jokingly say that. I'm still struggling with this. I can speak my age out loud, and I know I have the life experience that goes with that age, but I also want to disavow much of that experience and start over...and in a way, I am starting over, yet I'm middle-aged. I like being seen as younger than I am, but I resent it when people think I lack life experience...what a mess.

Well I'm a teen and I look like a younger teen. I bet I will for a number of years too :eusa_wall: Don't want to be a teenager forever.
I'd guess based on you're avatar that you are 19-20 and far past puberty, I don't really see anything that says young teen boy.

Could be a "whole body" thing. If he's short and slight (I can't tell from the avatar), his body can add to people's impression that he is still a boy. Not to mention that his voice, if it isn't very deep, might imply that he's a fourteen-year-old with a delayed puberty.

I don't really want to look older...just looking my age would be nice. I can still get on trains and busses for child fare and I'm 21.

Ditto and I have had some assume I'm not old enough to remmeber something when I am actually older than they.

QuoteI would just like to fit in with my peers. I look like a young boy. I can't buy cigarettes or alcohol and I even get IDed for energy drinks.
People make small talk and always ask me why I'm not in school, etc.
I just want to look like the person I am.

Ryan makes a completely valid point. Even thought I've been on T for years, my face is as masculine as it'll get along with everything else. Only in the last year could I pass for being over 18 and that's with facial hair.

It isn't so much the typical beard and wrinkles older I'd like to look, but sometimes I feel like a little boy bodily as my shoulders are not as wide as I'd like and I feel dainty in comparison to some other XY men. Ew, dainty. I hate that feeling.

Hell, more years of socially acceptable[or so they think!] trick-or-treating... Whats not to love?
I solemnly swear I am up to no good.
