Hi,

I've decided to coerce anyone who opens this thread to read this:

Daggers & Confusionism

The portrait spews characters that all look alike to me
with their delicate electronics and last year's monkey hat
Some break away to form their own herd, however,
the power of the portrait directs them back to their corners

The air inside the portrait is polluted.
Nowhere near good enough to huff and to heave
intangible hands chisel the dead lips of each character
faces nailed to phones talking to someone outside the frame
nobody exists outside the frame. The lines are dead.

I spewed this one night when I was depressed. Feel free to tell me I suck, otherwise I may not get depressed again.

Yes. I have no idea how I did it but it is really close to describing my feeling at the time. And it was a feeling of deep sadness and alienation.

You will.

It's great that you can be creative through depression. I use to be at my most creative in my downs. But later, they just became periods of fuddled thinking when I can do very little.

Make the most of it. This is a good piece.

Usually I totally shut down when depressed. I don't know why I did this.

I think it's nonsense - though that doesn't mean it has no-sense.

Ah the depressed days of poetry spewing. I remember those.. Once upon a time. ;)

I understand the feeling described in the poem, but I have to agree with Pica here that it's not true.

Keep writing, just don't let the meter bite your ear lobe off.

I have issues with rhythm and meter. I often forget to breathe.

Fortunately, I haven't felt like that for maybe 2 months.
