I sometimes wonder about the future of the adjective "transgender." Will it be one of those words that becomes redundant?

What am I talking about? Well, it seems the word "transgender" is mainly used to describe genetic males who are blurring gender lines. True, some women consider themselves to be "transgender" individuals, but most women who blur gender lines in their personal presentations consider themselves to be "women," not "transgender" people.

Got to agree...

The term is no longer useful.  Everyone who now doesn't fit into the norm when it comes to gender identity is included under what is now an umbrella term, and as such it has lost it's meaning. :(  Personally I hope it doesn't survive.
