Lucas Silveira returns to Portland, new band lineup and newer outlook in tow

"Since I started taking testosterone, now I'm passing more," said Silveira, who came out as a transgender male in 2005. "People who don't know the band now come to the show and think we're just three dudes on the stage. There was an element of me feeling—oddly enough—invisible when I did the show yesterday. It's not like I want to go onstage and have people constantly thinking about the fact that I'm a trans person, but there's something to be said about being somewhere or coming from a place and having people make automatic assumptions based on what they're looking at as opposed to what they know."
