Any people who have started T, do you have a weight training program? If so, did you estimate your maintenance calorie intake from the male range, then adjust it from that as soon as you started T; even though your body wasn't clinically operating at the male level yet?  I don't want to eat 500 more calories then I need to and gain more fat than muscle.  :o

Best diet in the world, don't count calories. Your wight muscle ratio will easily tell you when to eat more and you will notice when you gain weight whether it is muscle or not if you look for it.

I both agree and disagree with what Kat said

Those baseline levels you see for "male" and "female" are completely pulled out of the air for most of the population...throw in the fact that you are trans and have unusual hormone levels and it's a whole different ballgame.

You don't need to pick a certain amount of calories and stick with it forever. Try a regime for a week...note what you did. If you gain fat from this regime, then something is wrong and you need to change it.

Listen to your body, it knows what it's doing, but if you just wing it completely and something goes wrong, you won't know what to change

Your body will tell you if it needs more calories. Your appetite will let you know. In order to gain muscle, though, the biggest change between the male and female body is the muscle to fat ratio. In order to facilitate the muscle gaining process, you will need to significantly up your protein intake. I can't give you exact numbers (I am sure there are calculators out there) but you will likely need some multiple of your "female" protein intake to equal that of your "male" protein intake.

My point is, really, is that it's not so much the amount of calories you take in as where they come from that will impact the change in ratio of fat to muscle.

Thanks guys. You're right the best way is probably just trial and error.

Do you want to eat everything[and everyone] in sight yet?
I noticed my metabolism sped up on T. It's leveling out now...I'm not constantly hungry, but I am constantly thirsty. Just make sure you're not drinking alot of calorie laden drinks if you experience increased thirst cause that'll put on weight. Drink water.
oddly I crave meat more too. But don't overdo it. Listen to your body. Be realistic about your goals.
